Re: The Tuesday Night Film Music Club

I, too liked hearing the scores. I definitely did not like the dancing that went along with it. I think this is the first year that I can remember that they didn't play the nominated songs. I can't say I missed that.

Re: Concert Movies

I saw Woodstock at Ebertfest last week, April 22. What an incredible experience that was. Great video quality and great sound. I will never be able to enjoy the dvd of the movie after seeing it on the "big screen".

Re: The Tuesday Night Film Music Club

I have been watching episodes of Season 1 of the series Room 222 on DVD. I noticed that Jerry Goldsmith wrote the theme to that show.

Re: The Tuesday Night Film Music Club

I saw on another forum that February 10 would have been Jerry Goldsmith's 80th birthday. I thought you might be doing something to commemorate that.

Re: I am going to march in the Inaugural Parade

So how did it go? Did you have fun? I just got home about an hour ago. It was an unbelievably, exciting experience. I was about 10 - 15 feet away from the president when we went by the reviewing stand. It was great watching him point out several of our mowers and laughing. We got all kinds of media...

Black beauty
Another of his lesser known titles. But trust me, it is a gorgeous theme, and a beautiful symphonic score mixing celtic/irish sounds in the recording.
I recently discovered this soundtrack. It is very nice, indeed.

Re: The Tuesday Night Film Music Club

Must-Have: Hoosiers – Jerry Goldsmith One of the most inspirational sport movies ever, boasts what many consider the best score for the genre. It’s no surprise that the same team later created another memorable turn with “Rudy” Track: The Pivot I would love to have the soundtrack to this movie. Hoo...

Re: I am going to march in the Inaugural Parade

The Lawn Rangers use non-working mowers that are decorated. Here is a link to a YouTube video that will show the Rangers in action performing one of our "intricate" moves. If you look closely at the 1:47 minute mark of the video you will see me. I am right after the guy with the old-fashioned push m...

I am going to march in the Inaugural Parade

I am a member of a group here in Illinois called the Lawn Rangers. We advertise ourselves as a precision lawn mower team. We decorate old mowers and throw brooms while we march. We have been accepted to march in the Inaugural Parade on January 20, 2009. We are one of only two organizations from Illi...

Re: The Tuesday Night Film Music Club

Must-Have: The Last of the Mohicans – Trevor Jones & Randy Edelman Two renowned names for 1 score. Each with a very distinctive sound (And clearly identified “who-did-what”) The results is an incredible blend of styles, that should be part of everyone’s collection An excellent soundtrack that is am...

Re: What show shouldn't have been cancelled?

Sadly, there are three ABC shows that I watch that are going to be canceled this season - Pushing Daisies, Eli Stone, and Dirty Sexy Money. Of the three I will miss Eli Stone the most.

According to http://www.dvdpricesearch.com only Trancers and Trancers 6 have been released on DVD. It appears Tim Thomerson wasn't even in Trancers 6.

The first Trancers was a great movie. I will never forget the scene in the mall when Tim Thomerson fries the mall Santa front of kids in the mall.

I have to agree about The Big Chill. In retrospect I think The Return of the Secaucas 7 was a much better movie.
