Re: The Last Three Movies You've Watched

Kickass Dos :3stars: - I don't understand why it got all the hate that it did. I enjoyed. It did get a little too dumb at times though, particularly toward the end. Jim Carey and John Leguizamo's roles were both minor but I thought they were both great. The World's End :3stars: - I can't think of mu...

Re: Pacific Rim (job) (Spoilers)

Oh, and this film is basically Independence Day...with a worse speech. Cutting pretty deep there. The Independence Day speech is among mankind's greatest crimes. I saw it after seeing the bad reviews here but I still loved it. I certainly wouldn't argue with anyone who didn't like it as I had plent...

Re: The Last Three Movies You've Watched

Emancipation Double Feature: Lincoln :3.5stars: - Was fine. It had Lincoln in it so it delivered. Does Joseph Gordon Levitt really have to be in everything though? Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter :1star:- the one star is for my boy Rufus. George Carlin was in AL:VH? So the same (that it had Lincoln...

Re: The Last Three Movies You've Watched

Man of Steel :2stars: - I liked the cast but the movie overall was eh. It felt more Dragonball Z than Superman, although now that I think about it I'm not sure there's that much of a difference there. Hoping the next will be better. Les Miserables :4stars: - I really liked Russell Crowe, and kudos t...

Re: Random ranting about anything that pissed you off

So my boyfriend has started this new job working in a children's care home, looking after four obnoxious and ungrateful teenagers. Quite stressful and some very long shifts (usually 16-18 hours). He's not coping well with the change to his routine and he's not sleeping well at all, which I'm worrie...

Re: The Last Three Movies You've Watched

Airplane! :2stars: - A coworker insisted that I watch it but I'm guessing I really just don't get it. Grave of the Fireflies :5stars: - Excellent, though really sad. Hancock :1.5stars: - Bleh Tropic Thunder :3stars: - Not as spectacular as Ben Stiller seems to think it is, but some good laughs. Fut...

Iron Man :3stars: - Pretty good. Wasn't as crazy about it as alot of folks seem to be. Quarantine :3.5stars: - I haven't seen the original yet, but I really liked this. It sucks though that the trailer completely gives away the ending Dark City: Director's Cut :4.5stars: - A much improved version o...

So, I asked the Googletron a few months ago if the Director's Cut of Dark City was ever coming out. I was hopeful due to the new release that Gattaca got, but alas I found no news. Then I saw this staring at me from the shelf at Best Buy tonight, which apparently came out in late July along with a B...

After I had been working at my new job for about 2 weeks my supervisor told me that one of the people above me was going to be leaving and that she thought I would be good at it. I interviewed for it yesterday and officially accepted the job today. Now I just need that deluxe apartment in the sky.

Our neighbour (who is, incidentally, a miserable cow) has just been around to complain that our BBQ has ruined her washing. Apparently she has just done three loads of washing as her husband has been away all week (what that has to do with anything I'm not clear) and the smoke from the barbie has r...

Three weeks till the dissertation deadline and seven thousand words (out of twenty thousand) yet to be written. :surprise: I wrote my 12,000 word dissertation in 4 days. We won't focus on the fact it sucked balls and nearly killed me, but you've got loads of time left. One of my professor's best ad...
