Re: Hell or High Water (SPOILERS, natch)

Three stars of four. Haven't decided on a blog release date yet. Loved the last scene. Foster and Pine have probably never been better. (Those are separate thoughts) OK, my take was about the same as yours (which typically is true). But I had 'friends' raving that this was the best film of the past...

Re: Game of Thrones (SPOILERS)

Really good season thus far. Episodes have given me faith that the whole story was created with an eventual conclusion in mind, rather than Lost-style "we're making this crap up as we go".

For some reason, it only recently came to my attention that a really bad portmanteau abortion should be called an 'abortmanteau'.

Re: Luann Sucks Out Loud: the Comic Strip Thread

http://assets.amuniversal.com/2ba6515048e301330b53005056a9545d Now I will be extremely pissed off if this fiasco does not end up with Mr. Gray organizing a bust out within two weeks (which in luann comic* strip time typically takes seven months). When did Luann sleep with Quill? And why are their n...

Re: Luann Sucks Out Loud: the Comic Strip Thread

In a comic strip chock full of stupid side plots, the warehouse-turned-art/coffee/etc.-house has to be the dumbest of them all. Where the f*ck is the demand for any such place? Even in a cultural mecca this would be a tough sell. Out in suburbia? Are you serious? Who the hell wants to go see the "ar...

Re: The Book Thread (aka "what are you reading?")

About to start reading this, heard good things and my kind of geeky http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/a/a4/Ready_Player_One_cover.jpg I just recently finished it... I got a hell of a kick outta it. I hope that they are able to get all the licensing needed to make the movie geeky fun too. I w...

Re: Escape Rooms

It's not exactly the same as an in-person experience, and it certainly has a higher budget, but I recommend watching Race to Escape on the Science Channel for a flavor of what these things may be like. The bad time-pressure decision making is a hallmark of all escape games.
