Re: The Race for Gold 2016

Now 15 behind Bats after work and life has got in the way of cinema visits. Now at 28 after seeing Warcraft on Tuesday. I've promised myself that I will see two more movies before I go back to work full time on Monday (probably Alice and The Nice Guys ). I am determined to make it to 30 movies at le...

Re: The Race for Gold 2016

01 May Keanu Any good? It doesn't have a release date in the UK, mainly because no-one knows who Key & Peele are :( It was fun to watch. There were plenty of humorous moments. The film looks like a dream come true for Key and Peele; a feature length version of some of their best sketches. A-A-Ron? ...

Re: The Race for Gold 2016

After a piss-poor show for April (one bloody film!), I'm back on track and now at 25 after seeing The Jungle Book (3D) and Eye in the Sky yesterday. Going to see Captain America later on today and might try to see Bastille Day tomorrow during my afternoon off. If I were you, I'd skip Bastille Day a...

Re: The Race for Gold 2016

March was a ten-film month (woo-hoo!) but I'll resume normal service until the start of the summer holidays in July! Saw Hardcore Henry today which now has me at 23 (1 repeat) Snapping at your heels, Bats! Was Hardcore Henry any good? I liked it, but I've heard that the shaky camera/first person as...

Re: The Last Three Movies You've Watched

Eddie the Eagle :4stars: after watching spotlight Revenant and all the other dramatic Oscar films it's nice to watch something so uplifting. Yes it's a goofy film but it has heart, I still have a big goofy smile and Dexter Fletcger directs well in what is England's cool runnings. Special mention to...

Now at 20 (1 repeat) because I can't count and forgot that I had seen Eddie the Eagle . Also saw How to Be Single and 10 Cloverfield Lane last week, which has me at 8 for this month. I'll be seeing Batman Vs Superman and High Rise this week so it will be a ten film month. Good progress for the numbe...

Re: The Race for Gold 2016

Now at 17 (one repeat) after seeing The Witch, Rock the Kasbah and London Has Fallen in the past couple of days. Got a fair bit of time on my hands over the next couple of weeks (ie avoiding grading assignments and spring cleaning!) so I might get into double figures for March!

Re: The Race for Gold 2016

Only five more official teaching days until the Easter break (although I have to go in to work for two day because some of my classes don't listen when I give them hints for the controlled assessments!), so hopefully I might make March a double figure month.

Re: The Race for Gold 2016

An extremely rare triple bill today (The Finest Hours, Spotlight and a repeat showing of Deadpool) has me at 12 films so far this year (one repeat). If I hadn't been so ill this past week I might have seen more, but if I can get my shit together tomorrow I might be able to see two more this weekend...

Re: The Race for Gold 2016

I should beat my 2015 cinema outings total by end of the month! Be careful. I'm pretty sure that's how Pee Wee Herman ended up in jail. 3 total 15th January - Creed I'm aiming for 50 this year. Managed 41 last year, so barring being completely snowed in or my car dying, it's possible. Thankfu...

See both. I loved The Martian and hope to see Spectre later this week (probably tomorrow or Thursday, depending on how insane grading assignments makes me).

What I want to know is: to upgrade to IMAX or not for Spectre?

After seeing three movies in eight days I'm finally at 30 (not repeats) for the year so far. Got Sicario booked on Tuesday and there are a few others I'd like to see. Might even make it to 40 before the end of the year!
