Toy Story II :4.5stars: Ah, this was just brilliant. There were so extremely many little references to (mostly science fiction) movies in here to make a movie geek very happy. apart from that, the story was good, the (voice) acting was great and the animation was far better than the first one. And ...

Yeah I forgot about Ronin..I was kinda disappointed with Bullitt though, it was too dated for me..
And, I haven't seen it personally, but The French Connection seems to have a good car chase scene as well...

Patton :4.5stars: I was a bit apprehensive about a three hour long war movie, as I only recently saw "Glory" but the brilliant opening scene immediately convinced me. George C. Scott was previously unknown to me but I can only agree with the Academy for awarding him with an Oscar for best actor. I ...

Dog Soldiers [/i] :2.5stars: I quite liked this one. Have a look at "The Descent" which is really good, or probably even "Surviving the game", which is over the top but good fun nonetheless. BTW, since when is Dog Soldiers the same movie as Wild Orchid ? :D they both have a brilliant plot?

And the end-scenes/credits were just brilliant.... Please remind me? Banlieue 13 :3.5stars: Plenty of clichés and you know it's a french movie when there's a lot of jumping on rooftops. The plot is thin but the scene is nice and some of the characters are hilarious. Good popcorn fun. Glue :2stars: ...

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang :2.5stars: (first time) Meh. Very disappointed with this, as so many people had hyped it up and said I would be missing out if I didn't catch it. The Fountain :3.5stars: Umpf? Saw this with an introduction from Darren Aronofsky, but he said "let the movie do you". I browsed some fora after seeing this and I learnt that the movie is open for interpretation. Your explanation is thereby as good as mine. It's as difficult as you make it. Good vi...

Rosemary's baby :3.5stars: This film immediately sets the scene with a creepy opening theme. All starts well but you soon notice things aren't exactly as how they should be. I mean, a pregnant woman is supposed to gain weight; not lose it, and why is she having such terrible pains in her stomach al...

Click :1.5stars: 6.9 on IMDB so I figured it would be alright. Not quite. Predictable story and I don't think it was funny either. Windkracht 10: Koksijde Rescue :2.5stars: Saw this on the pre-opening of the Belgian film festival in Gent. Most expensive Belgian movie ever made. Sort of follow-up on...

film festival - advice wanted

Every year there's a very decent film festival taking place in Gent, Belgium ( http://www.filmfestival.be ) and as usual I plan on viewing quite a bit of decent things. I've received the list of movies that will be on show, so just wanted to ask if there's anyone recommending anything, cause I've ne...

Hard Candy :4.5stars: Finally another movie I can give more than three stars. In essence a flick with a two-person cast this is a very good movie about a 32-year old guy who picks up a 14-year old girl on the internet. Or is it the other way around? Boys be warned though, at times it's rather painf...

Withnail and I :1star: Well maybe you have to be British to like this but I had to force myself watching it all the way through. I had a few laughs but overall I think it's dead boring. once upon a time in the west :2.5stars: I can't see why everyone's raving about this one. There's too many things that doesn't make sense to me, and atmosphere alone doesn't make a movie imo.. Prefer Good, Bad & Ugly or Butch Cassidy instead.. 12 Angry Men :4stars: Saw the remake before this one so...
