The Great Muppet Caper

The scenes with Kermit, Fozzy & Gonzo are all hilarious but the movie grinds to a halt whenever Ms Piggy hits the screen. More catchy songs would elevate this into an amazing movie but the majority of the music is well below average.

How did they operate Kermit on the park bench for the scene in the pic? I’m sure the answer is something simple but I can’t figure it out.

The Italian Job

This is a below average heist movie that barely stays afloat thanks to the efforts of a decent cast and the Mini Cooper car chase at the end. The characters are too broad and generic. The worst parts of the movie are the glimpses into the past and future of each character. Those scenes come across as so clumsy and hastily written that they soured me on much of the film.

Pineapple Express

I showed this to my wife for the first time. Her comment mid-way through the movie was that she thought she would probably like it if she was on drugs but but pretty bored watching it sober. Seems true.

Step Brothers

This is so stupid but gets a little funnier each time I watch it. There ought to be a name for that phenomenon.

Watchmen

I know this movie has a lot of problems, but I continue to kind of like it. In fact, I kind of like it enough that I watched the 3 ½ hour cut. Turns out I found my threshold for how much I like it. I didn’t notice a whole lot of extra stuff, with the exception of the welcome edition of the animated shipwreck story.

How did they blend that in? I downloaded the shipwreck story as an extra on my iPhone back in the day, but I didn't know they had a version where it was interwoven with the rest of the movie.

must be blues-screen. Green-screen wasn't a thing then, and would've made Kermit equally invisible.

Jim Henson was dressed up as a bench.

This version was on Amazon Prime. Its been about a decade since I read the book but I think they interwove the shipwreck story into the movie the same way the novel does. Every one in a while the movie cuts away to the newstand with the kid reading the Curse of the Black Freighter comic and then it goes into an animated version of the story.
