I'm sure this has been answered somewhere before. I have watched BTTF twice in the past week on Nick. Something always bothered me. The photograph disappearing. If Marty was altering his future, shouldn't he have been the first one to begin disappearing in the photograph since he was the youngest? Kind of like the future was put on rewind, you would start with the most recent stuff first.

I always saw it as the thread of the future unraveling from that point in time...

In other words, he gets hit by Lorraine's father's car, so she doesn't fall in love with George, so they don't go to the dance together, so they don't share their first kiss, so they don't start dating, so they don't get married, so they don't have Dave, so they don't have Linda, so they don't have Marty and eventually that picture doesn't even get taken.

If he truly failed, after a long enough period, the photograph itself would disappear. Up to that point, each kind slowly disappears as the new future unravels from each moment... Until that point though, the physical photograph still exists for Marty to hold and look at.

Of course, what are the odds that he would have a photo of just himself standing in the same position?

Same "theory," why would there be a photograph of just the well? Sort of the idea that it would disappear eventually, having never been taken.
