This is a great movie for those of you who like those exorcist looking titties

Suspiria

This is just as weird and hard to follow as the original. Its way too long but at least the last half hour is batshit crazy and quite unsettling. I really respect actresses who take on the role of professional dancer. Even with creative camera work and doubles it seems like this takes an extreme amount of preparation and work to look realistic.

A Simple Favor

This is like if Gone Girl was not quite as good but a lot more fun. I was amused by the frequency I spotted bottles of Aviation Gin (the company owned by Lively’s husband, Deadpool.)

The Lighthouse Golem

This was a little too long and the leads (Bill Nighy and Olivia Cooke) weren’t quite up to carrying the movie. The narrative order does some interesting things but not enough to keep me invested in the story. The ending was pretty good but not enough to justify the journey to get there.

Blackenstein

Most blacksploitation movies from the 70s are trash but this one sets the bar especially low.

The Witch Who Came From the Sea

This was a really weird movie about a crazy lady who kills some dudes. This is only recommended if you’re in the mood for something really odd from the 70s.

The Girl Next Door

How is this 15 years old? Man, time flies. I was disappointed to find this wasn’t as good as I remembered. There’s still plenty I liked, though. Despite being an a-hole, Timothy Olyphant’s character is so effortlessly cool. He’s as good in this as anything in his career. I think its a career high for Elisha Cuthbert, too. She is so charming and almost peerlessly sexy. Unfortunately, It feels about 15 minutes too long. The entire ending seems very poorly constructed and it drags the whole thing way down.
