GAME: Name the actor/flick

#1 Post by bmcbride21 » 05 May 2003, 17:02

Well, it's been a while but I couldn't resist...it's back!! Once again, the rules are as follows: this is a PM game, all guesses must be sent to my PM. Three questions a day until someone reaches 50 points.

Scoring will go as follows:
CHEESE-1 point (actor)/1 point (movie)
DIFFICULT-1 point (actor)/2 points (movie)
TOUGH-2 points (actor)/3 points (movie)

As you can see...if you get the TOUGH line, you can keep yourself in the game or even vault over someone in front of you so...guess often and good luck!!

Once again-SEND ALL GUESSES TO MY PM!!

ROUND 1
CHEESE: "I'm your huckleberry."

DIFFICULT: "The term snapshot was originally a hunting term."

TOUGH: "Nothin' like a little head, hey padre?"

Let the guessing begin!!
"How can you diagnose someone as an obsessive-compulsive disorder and then act as if I had some choice about barging in here?"

Pretty good job on the First Round from all the participants but, just a reminder, in order to get all the points you need to name the movie the line comes from AND the actor that delivered it.

Here are the answers from Round 1:
CHEESE-Val Kilmer in "Tombstone"

DIFFICULT-Robin Williams in "One Hour Photo"

TOUGH-Daniel Baldwin in "John Carpenter's Vampires"

And the scores:
Nunis-10 (surprise, surprise!!)
plaxii-6
alan smithee-5
lttletimmy-5
snotball-3
MacManus-2
katgirl-2
marla-2

Sorry for the delay between the two rounds but...it's finals week :D Semester's over though so...here we go with Round 2:

CHEESE-"In the end there can be only one."

DIFFICULT-"Every day you get older. Now that's a law!"

TOUGH-"It's supposed to be hard. The hard...is what makes it great."

So, there you have 'em...the second batch of lines. Guess often and good luck!!

SEND ALL GUESSES TO MY PM!!

Alright, here are the answers and scores from Round 2 and the overall scores:

CHEESE-Sean Connery in "Highlander"

DIFFICULT-Paul Newman in "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid"

TOUGH-Tom Hanks in "A League of Their Own"

Round 2 scores:
Nunis-10
Archie Leach-10
alan smithee-10
MacManus-7
McT-3

Overall leaders:
Nunis-20
alan smithee-15
Archie Leach-10
MacManus-9
plaxii-6
lttletimmy-5
snotball-3
McT-3
katgirl-2
marla-2

And I present you all with the lines from Round 3!!

CHEESE-"It's not my fault I'm the biggest and the strongest. I don't even exercise."

DIFFICULT-"If he hadn't done what I asked him not to do...he'd still be alive."

TOUGH-"You could have given us help, but you've given us so much more."

Alright, I'm lookin' at my lines for this round and see that, they're kinda tough so...if you all have problems figuring them out...just PM me and perhaps I'll throw a couple easier ones out there for ya!! (amateurs!! :D )

No, I had entered a message and didn't realize I hadn't logged in so...that's what happened on that last message from me so...

Alright, here are the scores from Rounds 3 and 4 and the overall scores:
ROUND 3
luke os-8
alan smithee-5
MacManus-2

ROUND 4
Nunis-7
alan smithee-5

Not too many players the last couple rounds but...maybe that's due to the delays and not knowing whether or not that last message was from me...anyway-that won't be a problem anymore so...send guesses!!

OVERALL SCORES:
alan smithee-30
Nunis-27
MacManus-11
Arnie Leach-10
luke os-8
plaxii-6
lttletimmy-5
snotball-3
McT-3
katgirl-2
marla-2

Alright, here are the answers from Round 4:
CHEESE-Drew Barrymore and Skeet Ulrich in "Scream" (I accepted Matthew Lillard as well...'cause who knows, really? :D )

DIFFICULT-Ray Liotta in "CopLand"

TOUGH-Keith David in "Men At Work"

And the lines from Round 5!!
CHEESE-"You couldn't catch crabs from a ten dollar hooker."
"How is your sister, by the way?"

DIFFICULT-"Give me that baby you warthog from hell!"

TOUGH-"Now that we have this moment to share together. There's somethin' I been meanin' to ask you. Doesn't it bother you that another copper is fuckin' your wife?"

Alright...it's a sprint to 50 and, much to my surprise, Nunis trails!! :D
So, send all guesses to my PM and keep 'em comin'!!

GOOD LUCK!!

Ya know what...I'm gonna leave the lines from Round 5 out there until tomorrow before I reveal the answers in the hopes of some more players...gettin' kinda slow!!

Here are the lines from Round 6:
CHEESE-"I'll make you famous!"

DIFFICULT-"I don't know why you insist on learning things the hard way, Tre, but you gonna learn. Oh yeah, you gonna learn!"

TOUGH-"I hope I give you the shits you fucking wimp!"

Send all guesses to my PM and guess as often as you'd like...you don't have to be right to send in guess...just keep 'em comin'!!

Happy guessing and good luck!!

Alright...here are the answers from Rounds 5 and 6 and the overall scores.

Round 5
CHEESE-Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau in "Grumpy Old Men"

DIFFICULT-Holly Hunter in "Raising Arizona"

TOUGH-Dennis Farina in "Midnight Run"

Round 6
CHEESE-Emilio Estevez in "Young Guns 2"

DIFFICULT-Laurence Fishburne in "Boyz N The Hood"

TOUGH-Darren Moffet in "Dog Soldiers"

Overall scores
Nunis-39
alan smithee-35
MacManus-23
McT-11
lttletimmy-10
Arnie Leach-10
luke os-8
plaxii-6
Dappucino-3
snotball-3
katgirl-2
marla-2

Wow, a sprint to 50 and, although Nunis has finally claimed the top spot, it is by no means in the bag!!

So, here we go with Round 7!!
CHEESE-"Hey, if I don't see you later. Good morning, good afternoon and good night!"

DIFFICULT-"You don't print the truth. You print what people say!"

TOUGH-"Will you as a man of honor, say to me now, that you will cut me loose once and for all time?"

Well, well...Round 7 proved to be even more challenging than I had thought it would be...not one player got more than the CHEESE line!!

Here are the anwers and scores from Round 7:
CHEESE-Jim Carrey in "The Truman Show"

DIFFICULT-Paul Newman in "Absence of Malice"

TOUGH-David Caruso in "Kiss of Death"

Scores from 7th Round:
Nunis-2
alan smithee-2
MacManus-2
ze424-2
luke os-1

Overall scores:
Nunis-41
alan smithee-37
MacManus-25
McT-11
lttletimmy-10
Arnie Leach-10
luke os-9
plaxii-6
Dappucino-3
snotball-3
ze424-2
katgirl-2
marla-2

Talk about a close game...but, as MacManus pointed out...it is a three person race at the moment as...many people look at the posts, but only a few actually answer, correctly!! :D

Nunis is just out front and can actually win this round but will need to answer all three lines correctly with the actor's name so...have a feeling we will be seeing Round 9 as well!!

Here we go...the lines from ROUND 8:
CHEESE-"We all got it comin', kid."

DIFFICULT-"You silly, sentimental son-of-a-bitch."

TOUGH-"That's what I'm good at. Not the work, not the work...presentation."

You only got one point because you answered correctly on the movie, I believe it was "The Truman Show", but you didn't give me the actors name, Jim Carrey. Sorry, man :D
