Film Riddle - #2 (from Luke_os)

#1 Post by Gren » 14 May 2003, 09:06

Image

I've been trying to come up with a riddle for a while now. Then today I remembered one like this on the radio and I was inspired. It's just supposed to be something for you to have a think about if you're bored. I'm not sure how hard it is, cos I made it up. I'm thinking either post your guesses here so other people can feed off your ideas or PM them to me if we're gonna keep it secret. Whatever you think is best. First person to get it right wins a smile. I won't answer any questions about the riddle until it's been up for a few days and you've had a proper think. Cos after doing all this I have a feeling someone's going to get it in 5 minutes. Anyhoos here we go.

8 friends, with a common link, get together to watch a film, but when this picture was taken one of them in was the loo. Who's the missing person and why?

PS - No comments about my poor art work or that none of them are looking at the TV, thank you.

Lionel Hutz, aka Miguel Sanchez, aka Dr. Nguyen van Thoc, was paid $8 for his 32 hours of babysitting.

He was glad to get it.

I'm guessing it's not Anna Nicole Smith that was in the loo?

Are we allowed to ask if what's on the TV is the film they were going to watch?

The thing thats on TV has to play a major part. I reckon its got something to do with the fact that theres kind of a real world in the film.

They're watching Anna Nicole Smith on the loo, of course.

Should we begin speculation here or take it to pm's? Clearly the first step is actually naming the other seven viewers and then trying to figure out what they (or their names) have in common...

Do as you will. If you want everyone else to see your ideas and be helped/guided along then post them here. If you want to be a sly spy secret agent then PM a guess and i'll tell you if it's right or wrong, but no answer related questions yet.

In fact seeing as there's no real prize, why don't you just post here and use it like the forum at RiddlePlanet. Say what you know and see if someone else is inspired

Will do!

Is that a movie at all on the TV? I don't recognize it al all.... anyone anyone?

And I'm betting the folks don't have much in common at all... maybe just a common director?

Thanks for assuming that *I* won't be the one inspired. I'm gonna need a bigger ego. =)

It would be kind of hard to nail down an eighth person then, eh? Unless the other seven were the only stars in each of the director's other films...

(or if this riddle is as specific as something on Riddle Planet...)

I'm pretty sure there is only one answer, that fits my way of thinking anyway.

I don't know who he is. But what's the obsession with Anna Nicole Smith?

That's all I remember from her fledgling tv production -- that she would invite the cameras into the loo with her. No other obsession, except for the 'is this some kind of bust' memories...

This is Greenspan, btw:

Image

He's the chairman of the Federal Reserve in the U.S., the chief of the money supply and basically the man who's been running America's economy for over fifteen years now...

(I don't think that's really him on the couch, btw...)

Both that and Anna Nicole Smith were (rather lame) attempts at humor.

As far as the riddle goes, it's a good one. I'm stumped at present.
