This is a prediction and pick'em game with winner determined in early February, 2018 by the actual US Domestic Box Office Gross totals as determined by boxofficemojo.com

To play, PM your entry to me by Thursday, 1/25/18 11:59pm eastern time.

Step 1 - Pick one from each matchup in the 11 lines below (notice you could be picking two movies in the 11th matchup):

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom vs. Incredibles 2
Aquaman vs. Deadpool 2
X-Men: Dark Phoenix vs. Ant-Man and the Wasp
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald vs. Black Panther
M:I 6 - Mission Impossible vs. Mowgli
The Grinch vs. The Nutcracker and the Four Realms
Ready Player One vs. Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2
Bumblebee vs. Pacific Rim Uprising
A Wrinkle in Time vs. Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation (changed when New Mutants was postponed to 2019)
Mulan vs. Mary Poppins Returns
Solo: A Star Wars Story vs. the combined total of Venom and Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse

Step 2 - Pick 5 more 2017 releases (release date 1/28/18 to 12/28/18) that are NOT named in Steps 1 or 3

Step 3 - Tiebreaker: Domestic Box Office Gross of Avengers: Infinity War

We'll use boxofficemojo.com's Domestic Box Office Total for each movie at the end of January 2019, so we count the box office receipts in January 2018 until boxofficemojo.com puts up the receipts for the week that includes January 24, 2019 in it.

Winners:
Overall Winner - Person with highest total box office of their 16 movies
Pick'Em Champ - Person with most number of top choices for Step 1
Scout - Person with highest total box office of their 5 Step 2 movies
Marksman - Person whose Step 3 is closest to the actual gross

Ties in the first 3 categories will be broken by the tiebreaker (Step 3)

Remember, your Step 2 entries can't use any movie listed above. I'll post mine after the deadline, but before I open any PM's.

New Mutants has been postponed until 2019. I'm going to substitute in Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation.

If you picked Hotel Transylvania 3 for step 2, please choose another movie. It will no longer count towards your total here.

Feel free to change your Step 1 selection if you'd like. Anyone that doesn't and still has New Mutants will get Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation.

nomega69 didn't enter this part either, but I gave him an entry of $0. I think this is the first time we had two people guess the same amount.

Mulan was pushed back to 2020, which hurts figjam and nomega69.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix has been delayed until 2019. That gives me, redamin, and Ridilon a point unless something happens with Ant-Man and the Wasp.

Avengers: Infinity War is already at $547,829,103 - obviously this will go to one of the $600M+ guesses, but I think this one will end up between me and Ridilon.

Pace seems to have slowed so I'm thinking you right now. We'll see how week 3 does, but I think it's going to end up with a gross in the low to mid $700M range.

Step 3 Selections

Avengers: Infinity War is at $660,323,950, and should move out of justdrewit's range and into figjam's today.

I'll need another $20M out of it to get it into my range - could be a close one.

I just looked back at the upper and lower limit grid and realized that I have the smallest "range". No way it holds.

Domestic Total as of Jun. 28, 2018: $671,082,712

Still in my range, but not much more room for me.

Slowing down. At this pace I can afford a few more weeks, but that's about it. I need it to really slow down to nothing soon.

About a month until the DVD comes out - we'll have to see how many screens it stays on until then.

Domestic Total as of Jul. 12, 2018: $675,403,437

Averaging just over $130k per day this week, so you should be good on this one.

Looks like Mowgli (formerly The Jungle Book) will slide to next year, which hurts Scruluce.

Ant-Man and the Wasp ($174M so far) beats X-Men: Dark Phoenix (delayed until next year).
Mission: Impossible - Fallout (just released) beats Mowgli (delayed until next year).
Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation ($107M so far) has already passed A Wrinkle in Time ($100M and done).

Incredibles 2 ($565M so far) is leading Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom ($390M so far) by $174M, which should hold up.
Black Panther ($699M) should hold off Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (not released yet).
Bumblebee (not released yet) will probably beat Pacific Rim Uprising ($59M and done).
Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 (not released yet) will probably beat Ready Player One ($137M and done).
As long as Mary Poppins Returns is released, it will beat Mulan (delayed until next year).
Solo: A Star Wars Story ($212M so far) may not hold off the combined total of Venom and Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse (neither released yet), but it doesn't matter as we all picked Solo.

Deadpool 2 is at $317M so far, Aquaman hasn't been released yet.
The Grinch vs. The Nutcracker and the Four Realms (neither released yet).

Looks to me like Ridilon has the best chance to win Step 1, but justdrewit could tie if The Grinch beats The Nutcracker...

The Nutcracker had zero physical comedy. And, and,
with a name like the Nutcracker, I thought, oh, this would be worth a few yucks.
But no Lois, that title wrote a check to those queers on stage refused to cash.
