So we've come full circle. Again. You should know the drill by now. However, in case you don't, below are some rules or whatever.
The object is to guess what rating Ze will give a movie.
Everyone starts with 10 stars and each round will lose a number of stars equal to the error in their prediction. All guesses must be in 1/2 star increments.
At the beginning of each round, I will post a deadline for the next round, a movie title, and scores from the previous round. You have until that deadline to post your guess for what you think Ze's rating will be. To join the game, all you have to do is post a rating.
Currently, we're planning on 3 movies per week (with the occasional double feature), with deadlines on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The deadline will be 8pm GMT, same as the last game.
Keep in mind that England is currently on GMT+1. This means thet 8pm GMT is the following in some of the major timezones: 10pm mainland Europe, 9pm UK, 4pm Eastern, 3pm Central, 2pm Mountain, 1pm Pacific.
- If we reach a point where only one person has a positive number of points, they will be declared the winner and will be the player whose ratings are guessed in the next game (which Ze will run).
- If no players with positive points remain, the player with the highest score (i.e., closest to 0) will be declared the winner.
- If there is a tie for the player with the highest score, a tie breaker will be played.
If you do not post a guess in the round, you will be given the maximum error penalty; i.e., you will lose as many points as the player who gives the farthest-off guess.
All rules can be modified (e.g., for special rounds like double features, etc.) at any time by me and will be done so by a post here.
When asked for an opening statement, this is what Ze had to say:
* I'm not giving dues to any of you fools for these rules anymore. I originally stole them from smithee, so there. ThismovienotstarringTommyLeeJones.ze424 wrote:Opening statement? You can find the ratings of all the movies I've watched from 2003 through mid-2006 on the L3M thread, there's your opening statement. Most of them have probably changed with time, repeat viewings, etc., but there it is anyway. Also, on first viewing are rare and does not compute. Also, I'll try to stick to movies most people will have seen.
And yes, it will be painful.
