GAME: The Chain Visual Game

#1 Post by Nunis » 16 Feb 2003, 03:59

Based on T's suggestion on the Bored Board - I am now starting this new game... The Chain Visual Game...

The basic idea is that someone posts a screen shot and the first person to guess the movie has to post the next one.
You can post any kind of shot we wanted; a Knarf, a cut-out, an invisible, an Attention to Detail, or just a simple Where's That From... it's entirely up to you.

It will hopefully be kept alive, as opposed to most other visual games... There can't really be any scoring or anything, but if anyone have ideas for additional rules, let me know.

Again, you can post your guesses here, but wait for confirmation before continuing. And no holding up the thread please!

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Ok, so here goes the first one.

Where's this from?

You got to have a website on your own or a web service that can host your picture for you (it'll have an URL adress then) like Image Station or Fortune City (But I know that Fortune doesn't work for everybody)

Then in your message, the same way you write like this, you click on the Img button and write the URL adress between.

ze424 got my picture right, it was The Big Lebowski. So you're up ze!

I just realised too that there's no real point in sending private messages with the guesses, since the first one who gets it, gets to post the next one. So I have amended the rules. Guesses can be posted here.

If you don't have a hosting for your pictures, email them to me at 9945822@student.ul.ie and I will host them for you. I am online almost all the time, so they should hopefully be up within minutes if you email me.

My problem isn't with the syntax, but rather with a place that will host my pictures. That's why I haven't been posting any pictures of my own. Thanks for the offer Nunis.

Try signing up with a free account with Lycos. They offer great hosting services, and it seems like everyone on here can see pictures from them.

However, if you still need a place to host them, the offer stands. I have a paid account wirth 100 Meg and I barely use 10% of it...

Well, I don't want this new game to die just yet, so here is another one.
You can post your guesses here and I will say who's right.

This is a random guess, He-Man?
Lionel Hutz, aka Miguel Sanchez, aka Dr. Nguyen van Thoc, was paid $8 for his 32 hours of babysitting.

He was glad to get it.

Hmm... since the steering wheel is on the right side, it has to be an English car... James Bond?

It is an English car, TVRs are made in Blackpool, but the film is set in the US and this person is American so no, not James Bond.

Just pinch one from imdb, if it's too obvious then just do something to it, we all know how good a drawer you are

PS - Oh yes, you are correct.

The point of sending PMs in the game that I came up with was to keep the thread a little tidier instead of ending up with pages and pages of wrong guesses when we get more difficult images.. but I'm gonna zip it.
