Wow. For the first time in as long as I can remember, my day at work was so bad and crazy and chaotic, that I didn't check my email once, nor did I go to FilmWise for any reason. And I come home to find hundreds of emails saying that FilmWise has been hacked, etc. Great timing too, since it's the freaking deadline day for the tournament. Just what I wanted to deal with as I'm preparing to head out for the evening.

The scoop is: We were not hacked. My hosting company just screwed up, and as they've been moving servers around, we got routed over to one of the other sites they host, OddTodd.com.

So I calmly composed a letter to all the tourney folks saying not too worry and blah blah blah, but apparently I can't send email at the moment, I can only receive it.

So I annoyingly wrote up a news blurb to post to the front page, but apparently I also can't FTP to the site.

Fucking great. So my only means of communicating with all of you is through the Forums. (I've been promised it will all be working by later tonight. We'll see.)

The bottom line for the tourney is this. I'm extending the deadline for Round 2 by one week. I will, however, still be posting Round 3 Sunday evening as planned, but that Round will last for two weeks instead of one. (The only reason for extending Round 3's deadline is that people won't know scores of Round 2 until the next week, and I think it's nice for people to know where they stand while doing the last round of the tourney.

SO... If you didn't get your answers in for Round 2, you've got an extra week. If you DID get your answers in, I've got them, don't worry. (And you've got an extra week to keep struggling for more answers.) And for one week, you'll actually have two tourney rounds live. I hope this agrees with everyone, and I apologize for the mess-up.

Now it's time for me to kick some web-hosters' asses...

Not a problem, Boyz. No sweat. Nickles and dimes. Don't sweat the small stuff. And stuff. :D Hope your weekend gets better, Nipples!

You guys are the best. Even Todd. Although I just can't believe you'd put me through this after all FilmWise has given you. It stings just a little bit.

And Byrowill, trust me, the weekend can ONLY get better!

So the site is down for 14 hours and the deadline gets pushed a week? O K, whatever you think is best :-?

If the site goes down for 48 hours does that mean we get the scores at the end of April?

So our Odd Todd is the same from the OddTodd.com site?

Outstanding! I didn't mind being redirected there a bit. The cartoons are a riot!! Well worth checking out!
WD Todd! (if that is you...)

Nipples, very generous on the extension. You are obviously trying to avoid grading our "homework" during the week! Since I was on pace to actually finish round 2 sometime next week anyway, you have played right into my hands!!!

Yeah, I agree that seems odd. The problem is that I think a lot of people primarily access the internet from work, or are away weekends. So I've gotta keep it up til Monday or Tuesday at least. I was originally just gonna extend it til Wednesday. But that means I'd have to do the scores Wednesday night for people to see them before friday, and the way my "real" job is going these day, I can guarantee that ain't gonna happen.

So it turned into an extra week, which sucks if you're eager to see the answers, but then, a little suspense never hurt anyone, right? :D

That's kind of funny, I totally assumed it was you too.

Of course, I also checked it in the morning when I got up, found that site and thought "Oh, April Fool's Day, ha ha". It was only couple hours later that I realized I'm out of it, and it's a week away. But from that angle, it was a brilliant prank!

So that's some sort of subtle clue or a genuine threat?

Well, it sure ain't. Otherwise, I would have miscalculated.

But it was a way to tell everybody which ones I'm missing.

Every time I log on to FW, it takes me to some other site after a second or two. The only way I could post this is by hitting stop before FW finishes loading. Anyone else experiencing this? Or anyone not experienceing this who could email the boyz?

I can get into the FW site, but the link (or was it links, I can't remember) from the boards, back to the main site, is/are gone.

Looks to me like they removed the whole FilmWise template - logo, buttons, etc, so maybe that was the part that had been hacked.
