No idea what's up with the fallback site; I'm deleting it all now and will try to set something else up before the next FW meltdown.
I hope Theo is okay.

Anyone else finding the site incredibly slow this afternoon?
I hate purity. Hate goodness. I don't want virtue to exist anywhere. I want everyone corrupt.

Well, here we are again. As some of you know, the troubles we've had lately are most likely due to a database overload. It seems likely the hosting company just can't keep up with the demands.

That said, they have reset the connections and very helpfully informed Nippled that they have "resolved the issue". Ok, whatever, we'll see.

At my end, I have upgraded the forum software and am now in the process of putting everything back together. Some things won't work yet - like some of the modifications I've made to the code - and other things look a bit wonky (i.e. the header), but I'm working on all that. I also noticed many of the uploaded files (avatars, attachments) no longer work, so you may want to look at your files and see if anything needs updating. Also, rank images and emoticons.

But be patient, please. In my extremely limited spare time, I'm trying to get us back up and functioning at 100%.

All of your hard work is very much appreciated. Thank you.
Statler: Well, how do you like the film?
Waldorf: I've seen detergents leave a better film than this.

Ok, that's all I have time for right now. I know some smilies are missing; I know the modifications I have implemented in the past are missing. You'll have to be patient. I don't have any spare time this week so restoring will have to be on a very sporadic basis. At least we're up, for now. We'll see how it goes, I guess.

Thanks for getting this place back up and running. I caught myself reading various other message boards over the last week and I found it unsettling and unsavory.
The :) means it's all ok.

Had a few "Max User Connections" errors yesterday, and I just went through another batch of them, so it doesn't seem to be fully resolved.
