I am. I like the new judges, but I really wish they'd stop focusing on sob stories. It feels like I'm listening to the same schmaltz from Casey Kasem's American Top 40 Long Distance Dedications. "Dear Casey, I writing to you and hoping you'll play a song for someone that was very dear to me. I met Marta 10 years ago when we were both working in the Peace Corps in Angola. We'd often wander the abandoned mine fields holding hands and dreaming of our future together. Unfortunately, while I was away collecting supplies in Namibia, Marta was seriously wounded by a rogue water buffalo. She was airlifted out to recover, but I was unable to follow. I spent the next several years wondering if she was OK and where she was living. Now, ten years later, I have found Marta again. She moved back to her home in Germany while I am living in Southern California. Although we're unable to be together due to the distance, I know she listens to your show every Sunday. So if you could, would you please play "Play That Funky Music" by Wild Cherry?"

 There's a lot there to like, and for that here's a dedication from Frog to Batman:

I watched the first two episodes but without Simon I just couldn't get myself to care any more. Tyler was better than I expected but I underestimated how much I dislike Lopez.

If you haven't heard that, then you probably don't know the associated story about the following album, which I find fascinating:

Meh. I am still watching... but their "Judging" is pretty ridiculous. They were not really harsh with anyone. And they let some really bad people through to Hollywood. So much so that they had almost twice as many sent as any other season.

They have this nice country boy that can really only sing one song well... and even when he completely messed up his last song... they let him through to the final round... cuz he's "nice".. WTF!? And don't get me started on the crazy annoying chick that freaks out all the time who also screwed up her last song and made it to the final round, she really should have quit when she wanted too.

Also... the people that got through don't seem to be very musical... which I prefer. People always seem more talented if they can sing and play an instament...

But there is one guy that's fairly cool... played a standup base in Hollywood... and a uh... mouth organ thing in his audition. Plus he seems a bit crazy... so that's always cool.

I'm just hoping that all five guys go first this year to show the judges what extraordinarily bad taste they had in their selections. It was like they found the five most effeminate male singers possible and then wondered why they couldn't seem to get teenage girls to vote for them. They certainly tried hard to shove Charlie down our throats as well.

One night I actually counted how many times Nicki Minaj touched her "hair" (brushing it away from her eyes/forehead/etc).....it was about 110 times. It was soooooo annoying.

sorry shoeless, I haven't followed this show at all. I might watch the performances when only 3 are left, but even that is a rare instance. For all the pretense of being a talent-finding-show, very little talent (with any staying power) has come out of it. There are a few real diamonds, but I'd leave most of them in the pile with the rest of the coal.

Looks like you got your wish. I'm still astounded that Lazaro was the "last man standing".

Word. Ironically, the only thing that was keeping him in was his stutter.

OMG....and now Mariah Carey is thanking Harry Nilsson for writing a song (Without You) he didn't write!

I'd forgive her since Badfinger first released it the year she was born, but damn....come on dawg (as Randy would say).

Wisely, the judges were voted out even before all the contestants were.
