Hurrah! Good news indeed. And since I don't watch Parks and Rec, no downside for me.

Love Community, sure. But I'll be in the sad for Parks and Rec camp. I, too, saw the first three to five episodes and gave it up, but I returned and the show is pretty damn good right now.

We considered making a pub-quiz team name along these lines, but then decided against it, mainly because it would promote (and acknowledge the existence of) W.C.

(We went with "Whitney Houston Beats Bobby Brown to Death")

I too love Community. But it falls below both 30 Rock and Parks & Rec on my must-see every week.

Then you'll be happy to know it's available as shirt. Even Britta has one!

On the off chance that people didn't catch it, Dean Pelton is now an Oscar winner:

I'm sure there is going to be some sort of reference to this on the show, I can't wait to see what it is.

Yup. I was watching Sky High (a movie badly in need of a recast) yesterday and was thinking -- yeah, that goofy jester guy has an Oscar. Go figure.

Malcolm Tucker has one too. Yet only a nomination for Johnny Lawrence.

Season 2 is coming to Sony tv on 10th April. I have never seen Season 1. Can I just start from 2? Or should I record all of two, buy one, then go from there? (I can buy season 1 for £15)

I've wanted to watch it since coming here, so I'll record and save and order season 1 i think... but then I'll just want to buy all seasons so 'it looks right' on the old dvd shelf

Season 1 is on tv on demand.. awesome show, 3 epsiodes in

I know I'm about as late to the party as you can get but seriously great show.

"You sneeze like a girl"
"I'm gonna pummel you like a boy"

And the rap, epsiode 2.

Off tomorrow so I can watch the rest of season 1, ready for season 2 starting next week.

Chevy Chase In Feud With ‘Community’ Creator Dan Harmon

http://www.deadline.com/2012/03/chevy-chase-in-feud-with-community-creator-dan-harmon/

Things are looking up for NBC’s perennial bubble series Community, which has been solid since returning from a long hiatus earlier this month, establishing itself as NBC’s second highest-rated comedy behind The Office. But behind the scenes, a rift between co-star Chevy Chase and creator/executive producer/showrunner Dan Harmon has escalated into an ugly war of words.

Accounts of the feud have leaked online, including on social news website Reddit. The chronology of the events, corroborated to me by multiple sources, involves Chase walking off the set of the show on the last day of shooting last month without filming one of his scenes, which reportedly was to close out the season finale. Then at the wrap party, Harmon got up and gave a “Fuck you, Chevy” speech in front of Chase and his wife and daughter, and encouraged the crew to join him in saying “fuck you” to the actor. Chase left immediately and later left Harmon a profane-laden voice message, a portion of which found its way to the Web after Harmon played it in front of other people. Click here for audio. (Warning: foul language!) In the voice message, Chase addresses both his storming off the set, which he attributes to not getting the script beforehand, (some say it’s because he didn’t find the scene funny) and the wrap party incident.

People close to the matter told me they weren’t surprised by the feud, noting that Chase already had a reputation of being difficult before signing on for Community. (I hear it was NBC’s former boss Ben Silverman who championed Chase for the project and was instrumental in bringing him on board.) Word is Chase has stormed off the set of the NBC show in the middle of a scene a number of times and has also gotten into arguments with Community executive producers-directors Anthony and Joe Russo. There had been tension between Chase and Harmon, and with both of them described as “passionate” or “volatile,” depending who you talk to, a blowup was “inevitable,” one person said. Ironically, a recorded Chevy Chase phone call played a major role in another feud involving the Saturday Night Live alum, that with shock jock Howard Stern.

It is unclear at the moment what impact the falling-out between Harmon and Chase would have on Community and whether Chase would continue on the show. The producers’ attention right now is focused on securing a fourth-season renewal for the offbeat comedy, which appears more and more likely. The pickup is key to the syndication prospects of the series, which has an off-network deal with Comedy Central as well as a non-exclusive pact with Hulu. While he was the biggest name when Community launched, the series has made stars out of several of its little known supporting players, with Joel McHale firmly established as the show’s leading man. Still, Community has benefited Chase, boosting his sagging career with a role on a hip show.

UPDATE SUNDAY: Since I posted the story yesterday, several people working on the show have come forward to confirm Chase’s version of the events. One noted that the show indeed was “suffering through a ‘non-script day’” when Chase walked off. Another claimed that most of the cast and crew members who attended the wrap party disapproved of Harmon’s behavior

And here's a transcript of Chase's phone call to Harmon:

“I hope you’re ready to take your medicine, you fat fuck. You didn’t give us a script to begin with, so nobody knew what the fuck was going on during the week. Second of all, your goddamn bad writing, shit stinko fuck, was an abomination; and your writing is getting worse, so suck my cock. I don’t get talked to like that by anybody, certainly not in front of my wife and daughter, you goddamn asshole; alcoholic, fat shit.
You’re gonna live to be about 57, if you’re lucky, the way you eat. I have nothing to say to you except you can suck my cock. Is that clear?
And I hope you can play that for everybody around you who agrees with you that you should say “fuck you” in front of all of those people, to me and my family. You think that’s the right way to behave?
If you were here right now I’d fucking kick you’re fucking teeth out. You’re nothing to me. You’re (unintelligible) with what I’ve worked with before. You’re not funny. You’re OK.”
