Just a couple months ago, I had never heard of Downton Abbey. Then somehow overnight it seemed to become the darling show of both critics and audiences. I don't quite know how that happened, but I decided to check it out and I've become completely obsessed with it. I can't quite put my finger on why, but I burned through the first season this weekend. I can't wait to start season two this week.

And I lurve Mr Bates. I bet you thought I was going to say Hugh Bonneville or one of the others, but I've quite fallen for the valet, it seems.
Spoiler for I hope
Oh, I do hope he and Anna end up together, they are so cute! If you know, please don't tell me.

Man, everyone I know is talking about Downton, and telling me it's right up my alley. You too is the final straw. Fine, universe, I'll check it out.

All right, new thread.

I just finished season two. It's a testament to this show addictiveness that I watched the final two episodes this morning after having stayed up all night watching the Oscars.

I had some problems with the plotting in the season two finale (the one before the Christmas special), but the writing is sharp as ever, and I love these characters and can't wait to see more of them in September.

Also, it's official: I am now in love with Mr Bates.

Just started to watch it (middle of second season).
I couldn't imagine how accurate the description made of it in HIMYM was.
