Great Canceled TV Shows

#1 Post by Odd Todd » 12 Nov 2003, 08:48

From the Titus Thread I thought this would be a good thing to add.

I probably watch waaaayyyy too much TV... and most of the time when something is canceled that I watch I am usually grateful because I don't have to watch it anymore!

Sure there are plenty of shows that were canceled... but alot of them had run their course... I am more interested in the shows that never really found an audience and died young.

But there are some great shows that I still miss. What are yours?

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
I remember really liking CUPID... Jeremy Piven just cracks me up and Paula Marshall was very cute. One of the best parts was when he rented a limo and passed himself off as Dave Matthews...

STRANGE LUCK was about a guy that was always the center of strange coincidences, good and bad... I remember he never owned a good car because it was always in accidents, so his was pieced together from many different cars... but it helped that he was a photographer and was always in the right (or wrong) place at the proper time.

I also liked SPECIAL UNIT 2... about elite cops that hunted monsters. It was pretty funny and had some decent effects.

I always liked My So Called Life... but since it was a showdown between that and Party of 5, I'm glad PO5 won.... mmmm Jennifer. Love Hewitt's never been so sexy!

Yeah, that one was good. Wasn't it in the pre- (or post-) X-Files slot? You'd think that would be a boon but apparently not :-?

Also FREAKY LINKS
(NobodysFool will back me on this one.) Ethan Embry playing a paranormal investigator (and his allegedly dead brother.)

I was late to Freaks and Geeks and didn't come to love it until syndication. Then when Apatow brought us Undeclared I was a bit satiated. I was crushed when it was canceled, but I knew it was in big trouble when Adam Sandler was a guest star and then the showings started getting more and more sporadic.
The :) means it's all ok.

Jeremy Piven rules (though I kept waiting to see John Cusack). Paula Marshall is kind of the female Ted McGinley.

Yeah, I never really liked The Critic.

Police Squad! was excellent.

#1 on my list of cancelled-too-early. And I was #1 on the list of people buying it on DVD when it came out.

Other correct answers include Action, Family Guy, Greg the Bunny, and Mr. Show with Bob and David.
It's such a fine line between stupid and clever.
