The episode entitled The Secret War of Lisa Simpson. The gag being when Bart puts all the megaphones head to toe and simply says "Testing." Despite seeing it 10 times I still laugh every time! I love it!

As a FW newby when I found this I was disappointed to see it has been almost 1 1/2 years since the last post  . I hope we can bring it back, because I am a huge Simpsons fan. My favorite episode would have to be the 4th of July episode when they go to the beach called Summer of 4 Ft. 2. There are some great lines in it as well as many humorous comments towards Milhouse, which I find hilarious. I could have done without the real story line of Lisa changing her image.

Favorite Quote from episode
"Um, let me have one of those porno magazines a large box of condoms a bottle of Old Harper a couple of those panty shields andsomeillegalfireworks and one of those disposable enemas. Ah make it two."

And Marges response when he gets home is great.

Hope I can bring this back. :)

I'm always happy to talk Simpsons. I hated Summer of 4' 2" for a while, after seeing it about 6 times in a week. But it is good when seen after a break. I still don't like the prank-monkey episode, and I also throw many of the Marge/Lisa led episodes as the less good ones.

Any thoughts on the Ricky Gervais episode? I thought the start of it, when he was just trying to write like a Simpsons writer, was awesome. Some of the best new lines for a while. But after he was introduced as the guest character it suffered from the usual guest star lameness. A David Brent, English stereotype hybrid I could do without.
Lionel Hutz, aka Miguel Sanchez, aka Dr. Nguyen van Thoc, was paid $8 for his 32 hours of babysitting.

He was glad to get it.

Agreed. It started great, until his character showed up. There no good one-liners after that and the whole story was just really lame.

I would have to agree that the Prank monkey, although not my least favorite, is not all that good. I didn't catch that episode with Ricky Gervais, unfortunately there was a large period of time when I was working Sunday nights (that's when they come on here) and missed quite a few episodes. I now have the DVR ability and record every re-run in hopes of watching a few that I have missed.

One of my least favorite episodes is "The Canine Mutiny". Like in all Simpsons episodes a few good laughs but I just didn't like this one.

Also another of the least favorites (which could be because I have seen it soooo many times) is "Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire". When looking back I liked the episode but now I just can't stand it.

Lisa on Ice was always one of my favorites... Just tons of great lines, especially acting out with friend

"I just ripped the head of Mr. HunnyBunny."
"But Mr. HunnyBunny was your beloved childhood toy..."
"Ahhh! Mr. HunnyBunny!"

"All right pie, I'm just going to do this * and if you get eaten it's your own fault"

"Repeat you are not in competition with each other"
"Apu just called, this week Bart's team is playing Lisa's team--You're in direct competition! And I don't want to see you two taking it easy on one another. I want to see you fighting for your parents' love! Fight! Fight! Fight!"
If you wake up at a different time in a different place could you wake up as a different person?

Sorry to revive a thread after almost 3 years, but last night's episode (though not stellar) had one of the best gags I have seen in a long time.

After Lisa took a pill of Ignoritall, the world turned into a series of smiley faces. What amused me was that the world of Springfield kept on its regular day-to-day, but with happy faces. The best gag of the sequence was seeing Barney stagger to a lamp post and vomit a bunch of smiley faces into the sewer.

I haven't laughed that hard during a Simpsons episode in a looooooong time.

If anyone has a screen capture of Barney barfing smileys, I would love to have a copy.

What do you consider to be the 'last' :5stars: episode? For a while I've maintained it was Guess Who's Coming to Criticise Dinner in season 11, but after watching again today I think I Am Furious Yellow (Angry Dad) from season 13 may be a contender.

I disagree. One of my all-time faves is the one where Albert Brooks is Scorpio.

Hey, just discovered this post. That would be my first pick as well. It's called 'You only move twice', btw.

Dunno really, I've stopped watching The Simpsons these days, there never seem to be any new ones on... Last time I LOLed at an episode was the one where Marge dreams about going to Catholic Heaven
"Did I not just use the word 'puzzling'?"

awesome bit. I could watch a loop of that for a good ten mins, still laughing.

My favourite has to be either The Stonecutters or See my Vest (the stonecutters works better as a whole episode though.

It clearly wasn't a "best" episode, but I laughed quite a bit at tonight's cruise one. And i laughed way more than it deserved at "Iowa Writer's Workshop at Sea"
