Well the world turns
and still elliott's yamin' every week
he can't sing but folks remember his name from ET
In the ghetto
La la la la la.

And then there's Kat
Her voice has no one ravin'
But she gets some calls
from boys fawning like Draven
In the ghetto
La la la la la.

Robin: "Gosh, Batman, is there anything you don't know?"
Batman: "Oh yes, Robin. Several things, in fact."

Taylor was great, Kat was good, Elliot was good, but I don't think he's enough of an "idol" to make it to next week.

Taylor was okay, but I wouldn't call any of them great. I couldn't stand watching Kat butcher another Ella Fitzgerald song. And why does Elliot chose to sing a lesser version of a Ray Charles song? American Idol just makes me think of the line from Broadcast News. Lots of things make me think of this line nowadays. "What do you think the Devil is going to look like if he's around? Nobody is going to be taken in if he has a long, red, pointy tail. No. I'm semi-serious here. He will look attractive and he will be nice and helpful and he will get a job where he influences a great God-fearing nation and he will never do an evil thing... he will just bit by little bit lower standards where they are important. Just coax along flash over substance... Just a tiny bit. And he will talk about all of us really being salesmen."

At least I've got a tagline for my av now.

I'm really hoping Elliot is leaving. I just don't hear the same thing the judges are hearing. Because what I hear is not great. It's not even good.

Kat was awesome at Somewhere Over the Rainbow, but just So-So on the other 2.

Didn't watch. Couldn't really care. We'll have another mehidol.

Don't see any of these three going anywhere, except perhaps Taylor as a sideshow.

All 3 of these have the potential to have good careers. If Carrie Underwood and Bo Bice can have the "success" they are having, I imagine these 3 can. Especially Bice. Never knew what people saw in that clown. Just because you have long hair and sing a karaoke version of "Sweet Home Alabama", that doesn't mean you're a rocker, holmes.
Take away the long hair and telling people he's a rocker, dude is a glorified Contemporary Christian singer.

For a shorter referance to that, you could use:

"I think we have the kind of friendship where if I were the devil, you'd be the only one I would tell."

This is a good quote. However, it's a cautionary tale only for those who watch AI as a serious competition to see who the next great musical artist is.

Boy, those results seemed like total bullshit. I am not commenting on who should have gone home, but on the "closeness" of the results. It seems pretty damn unlikely that you could get over 33% and come in third in a fair vote. It would be far more likely that they were running up against the maximum number of calls that could get recorded. They really need to redo the voting system.

:green: Any system that let those two Hawaiian pieholes last until the final 5 (or wherever they got) a few years back is a system that obviously sucks.

While you're at it, McT, can you take a look at the electoral college?

They really do need to redesign the voting system. Why can't we change it so people vote online? And is it really only Cingular subscribers who can text or is that their way of advertising more for Cingular?

Kat's last song sounds terrible. It started off well enough, but there were Pickler-level tone problems at the end.

The finale so far is easily one of the most surreal things I've seen on television.
