Can you tell if this is because the Wii version sucks, or if it's something else (e.g., your friend has it tweaked wrong, you aren't used to some difference in the two controllers, etc.)? I'm sick of waiting for RB for Wii, so I'm considering getting GHIII (that is my only Wii option for now, right?) for the Wii.

Does anyone else have any experience with the game on a Wii?
I think it was just a slight difference in the time to hit the notes. The worst part was looking like a dick because "something was clearly wrong with the guys guitar controller."
hopefully tweaking the settings will make that problem go away ...

Is is possible to get 5-stars on Easy on the PS2? I've had over 95% in some songs and still only come out with a "mediocre 3-star review". Did get 4-stars on Ruby on the first attempt though :D
It's quite possible. Simplest way to get high scores:

1) Constantly hit star sequences to acquire "star power"
2) Wait until multiplier is at 4x and long string of notes is coming
3) Activate star power, hit lots of notes at 8x

smithee -- the only real Wiissue I've heard for GHIII is that the original version sent to consumers was not stereo. (This may or may not be much of an issue, depending on your tv setup.) They're exchanging that version for a stereo version if you complain.

So, if you buy it, you may want to make sure you can get the stereo version (that is, if you can make sure of that). Or exchange it if you can't.

Sonofabitch. I can't get past 4-stars on Dragonforce on medium. I just bested my previous high by 14k and I'm still short. I felt like I played my ass off, too.

JJ, what score do I need for 4 and 5 stars on that? I looked around scorehero a bit for the answer but didn't find it and now I need to get ready to go to work.

:4stars: cutoff in the range of 191,358 - 203,431
:5stars: cutoff in the range of 278,895 - 288,985

(The actual cutoffs haven't been determined/verified.)

And I'm well behind you on this song, so I wouldn't worry about it too much. (My high is in the low 100,000s, though I think I may have been too embarrassed to publish it in our spreadsheet.)

Thanks for that. My work internet blocks anything it perceives as fun or games. Filmwise, thankfully, is immune.

I wondered why you didn't have a score posted for Fire and Flames. I think we're pretty close to each other's skill levels and the only real difference in most of our scores is where in our experience we played the songs (i/e I played most of the GHII easy songs after playing through medium whereas I'm guessing you played them when you were just beginning.)

We are close in skill. Though I think I lag behind you on any song that involves hitting a single note many times in succession. My strumming is not consistent, and my sense of beat is lousy. (I think this is one area actually playing an/the instrument helps.)

Maybe I make up for that in some other area, so that I can still stay ahead of you on other (non-repetitive note) songs.

Yes, I've not really gone back and nailed many of the areas I was once just happy to pass.

[For those repetitive note songs, you either hit every one and get a great score, or you don't and you don't. 95% on those notes is no good.]

I've played TTFAF three times, I think. Passed it every time, but nothing to be proud of.

Oh, and do you tilt the guitar or hit "select" to activate star power? I now have four guitars (three for GH, one for RB), all with completely different sensitivities to tilting.

I didn't know you could hit select. I have always just gone with the tilt. Unfortunately, I play with the guitar slung pretty low and the neck slightly tilted up so I end up inadvertently setting it off some times.

On that stupid Wii I played on last night I just about had to jump up and down to get the star power to go off.

There are so some songs for the 360 versions that aren't on your list. Should I add them to the bottom of the list or make a special section for them?
Put them on the bottom, please.

Also, on the songs I added to the GHII pages I out them at the bottom with the other bonus songs even though they are actually part of the main setlist on my version.

Awesome. Downloaded and played the Charlie Daniels song, which was hard.

But it inspired me to go back to Raining Blood on Medium. Got my :5stars: finally. The Jolly Roger is mine.

For Raining Blood, I still screwed up a few times on those long green strings at the start. I needed to basically nail the rest. Stupid long green strings.

Then I got mad because I made a stupid mistake on Ruby, which cost me my first Medium sightread full combo. Fortunately, I got one two songs later on that stupid Steve Ouimette Xmas special.

Devil Went Down to Georgia is insane. It doesn't get nearly enough credit for being as hard as it is (although I've spent a total of about 10 minutes reading scorehero so it's not like I really have my finger on the pulse of the guitar hero community.)
