Still have One (that and Lou and I'll be done with Hard). I just played One and got 90% (noticeably farther than ever).

Still stuck on The Metal on Expert (though I just got to 58%, topping my previous best of 49%)

You're progressing nicely. You've just about reached the point I got to before moving on to other games.

I'm hoping to move on to another game in about two months...

Rock Band 2 should be out in about 3 weeks (for XBOX)

Actually, that may affect my GH3 time commitment a bit; though we only have a Wii here, I suspect some of my more enlightened (read: XBOX-owning) friends will be getting RB2.

Misc. download notes:

1) A Dragonforce 3-track pack was recently released for GHIII.

2) Moving Pictures (in its entirety) is out this week for Rock Band.

So it wasn't an optical illusion where the notes seemed to move faster in the YouTube videos I was watching, they actually do. So it's not just about learning blue (which I suck at, as my pinky is for, well, nothing), it's actually more like starting again. This could take a while.
On the bright side, once you master those blue notes you'll be a whiz at the shocker.
I feel for Gren. He's cursing yet hasn't even seen Raining Blood on medium, let alone hard, let alone expert.
I'm pretty sure my patience won't extend that far but we'll see.

Doing much better on medium now and starting to have some of those 'Did I really just play that? Multiplier says yes!' moments. But does anyone else find that it's impossible to play whilst tired? I understand your reflexes may be a bit slower or whatever but I began to think my guitar was broke the other day due to how bad I became.

My skill goes way down if I'm tired or drunk. Very un-rock star.

Just beat One on Hard. (Didn't beat Lou.)

Then played The Metal on Expert: 95%. Dammit.

Yeah, but you're close on "The Metal" and once it drops the next few aren't too bad, IIRC

Good job. Lou sucks, of course. Took me a few months.

And I failed multiple times at 90+% on The Metal. Being able to alt-strum and/or having decent proficiency at HO/POs really helps at the last part.

So I'm having a Rock Band party a week on Saturday (you're welcome to swing by if you're in the area). I was hoping to have some sort of 'battle of the bands' with everyone splitting into groups and engaging in some friendly competition. But I'm not sure what's the best way for them to compete, as going with random songs for each band seems like it could give too many unfair match ups (as some songs score much higher than others). Any ideas?

OK, let me rephrase that question: Is there a list of songs in Rock Band sorted by possible score?

Here's a table of best band scores on hard:

http://rockband.scorehero.com/top_score ... =15&diff=3

That's not optimal, and it's not the difficulty you'll be using, but it's probably not a bad basis.

Finished RB on medium on the drums. I'm not sure if I have the skills or dedication to make it on hard.
