Piece of shit controller. Green button doesn't work. Nor does blue occasionally. And the strum can stick. Piece of shit. GRRRRRRRRRRRR

Did you not get GH:80's?

BTW, finally beat every song on GHV(X). Hyperspeed 4 helped.
No sign of it in the UK, Aeorsmith and Metallica get their own (quite deserved) games. Would love a Skid Row edition.
How about now?
It's slipped off my radar, I'd have to get the PS2 out of the loft (my PS3 isn't backwards compatible GRRRR).

Twisted Sister - I Wanna Rock
I thought all of the PS3s were backwards-compatible with PS2 games. What gives?
Most of the new ones aren't, IIRC. My 80GB is only somewhat BC (and one of the things it sucks on is GH, though it sorta works). The 60GB were fully BC, but too expensive for Sony to make.
Pretty pathetic, especially after they made those commercials claiming everything would always be backwards compatible (when the PS2 came out, I think).
Agreed, I got a 40 GB when they first came out, I knew it wasn't going to play PS2 games but to be honest it doesn't really cause me any grief.

Had a few problems myself, had to take one back, when I explained it was cutting out and making me miss notes the guy looked at me as if to say 'oh really?'

Not as bad as when my ultra competitive future brother in law had a go and broke my original one.....knobhead

Well, thanks, but the skillz are still quite limited.

I do have a good strategy for beating the song; I'd be pretty sure bing could do it if he cared too. You may as well. Let me know if interested.

I've played maybe a half dozen times in the last six months (well, at my house), but I suspect someday I'll be interested in the strategy.

I don't know if you're asking or not. I'll post it anyway, in case you play it another half dozen times in the next month:

Obviously we're talking about getting past Mosh 1.

1) Up the hyperspeed a notch
2) Forget about the orange button
3) Alt-strum at a fairly good pace -- but don't attempt to alt-strum to any particular beat in the song (if you alt-strum through the green gallops, you want to go at about that speed).
4) Concentrate mainly on hitting the blue note with your pinky, and rolling your hand toward the green*. You'll have to learn that timing, but essentially it's like doing the Knights of Cydonia triplets, only faster, with more notes, and awkwardly timed.
5) Stop as necessary and hit the chords.

Take this method to practice mode. You probably need to get about 55% to survive the section (that's what I had when I tried it in real runs). Then you just need to go into the thing with star power and a full rock meter (I suggest alt-strumming straight through the gallops -- they're faster than Barracuda). Activate just about when you're ready to slip into the red.

Oh, and it's possible to fail immediately thereafter, during the song's "chorus". So I'd recommend at least looking at that before you tried this. There are a bunch of green notes too fast for single strumming, plus a couple of chords that include the orange button.

The song after the chorus is easy enough to get you a full rock meter again. But people have been known to fail on The Flood near the end. Very fast strumming section along with a bunch of trills. So you should probably learn to BS your way through this as well (if, like me, you're going to blow all of your chances at having star power for the section).

Note chart is here:

Image

*You may as well roll your hand toward the green even when there's no green fret. You don't get penalized for hammering-on fake notes.

Guy gets a FC of the hardest section of the only GH:VH song not to be FC'ed.

Posted not so much for the FC, but for the guy's reaction, which is positively Belushiesque. (No, not Jim.)
