It's that time of year again, when we lesser mortals try to get one over on the mighty Ze. If you want to try, sign up at Fantasy Premier League. It's the best free fantasy football I've ever tried, and you don't really even need to know anything, just pick random players if needs be, but WE MUST BEAT ZE ONE OF THESE DAYS!

Right, the winning team has been chosen and is raring to go.

Standings after week 1:

1 Wing Dang Doodle FC my friend Graham 53 53
2 More Cowbellhorn London Redsox 50 50
3 Glory Hornets Rob's mate John 45 45
4 Butcher's Dogs FNG 44 44
5 Guts and Glory my mate Ian 43 43
6 Darren's Baggies my mate Darren 40 40
7 Shayven Haven XI my mate Jamie 39 39
8 Bolton Fondlers my mate Rob 35 35
9 Salford City Gren 33 33
10 Les Provencaux TravisBickle 23 23

Nothing really to tell in the first week, all a bit tight, apart from Travis, who is already a little adrift. The main story is there is no Ze so far, which gives everyone more of a chance. There's still time to join (anyone at all), and even with less points, I still think Ze could win.

I think maybe I should hand over to this guy. (Warning, strong language).

Ok, so now that the boards are beginning to get back to normal:

Table after week 6:

1 Salford City 47 292
2 Glory Hornets 51 279
3 More Cowbellhorn 71 276
4 Butcher's Dogs 62 262
5 Guts and Glory 58 255
6 Wing Dang Doodle FC 54 250
7 Les Provencaux 41 245
8 Rebel_Foxes 65 242
9 Bolton Fondlers 45 242
10 Darren's Baggies 62 237
11 Shayven Haven XI 45 232

Ok, so a lot's happened, but Gren has pulled out a solid lead. FNG slipped, but a good 6th week puts him back in a strong position, behind Redsox. Travis Bickle's bad week sees him slip to 7th, and new boy Rebel_Foxes (Matt Mitchell, anyone, Beuller?) catches up the missed week 1.

Oh that's just dandy, 4 injuries for this weekend with one player not coming back until February. :balrog:

Me feels a wildcard coming up... (I played mine, mainly to get Ronaldo)

It's been done. I'm now the proud owner of a Denilson. :)

latest update from last weekend:

1 Salford City 43 335
2 Wing Dang Doodle FC 81 331
3 Glory Hornets 45 324
4 Butcher's Dogs 60 322
5 More Cowbellhorn 45 321
6 Guts and Glory 66 317
7 Rebel_Foxes 64 306
8 Les Provencaux 47 292
9 Darren's Baggies 53 290
10 Shayven Haven XI 47 279
11 Bolton Fondlers 21 263

A great week for Graham sees him get within touching diatance of Gren. The whole top 6 are within 18pts, showing that early season form really means nothing. However... at least four teams have already played thier wildcard (mainly to accomodate Ronaldo) - will this prove to be a mistake as the season progresses, or a stroke of genius?

Latest update:

1 Butcher's Dogs 90 510
2 Salford City 62 504
3 More Cowbellhorn 72 503
4 Glory Hornets 72 500
5 Guts and Glory 83 490
6 Wing Dang Doodle FC 42 487
7 Shayven Haven XI 75 478
8 Rebel_Foxes 53 450
9 Darren's Baggies 59 433
10 Les Provencaux 50 400
11 Bolton Fondlers 52 392

A storming week from FNG sees him shoot up the table, but it's still mighty tight near the top. Travis Bickle has a poor week, with a number of injuries and suspensions.

Latest update:

1 Guts and Glory 100 590
2 Butcher's Dogs 66 576
3 Glory Hornets 65 565
4 More Cowbellhorn 56 559
5 Wing Dang Doodle FC 70 557
6 Shayven Haven XI 67 545
7 Salford City 37 541
8 Rebel_Foxes 32 482
9 Darren's Baggies 26 459
10 Les Provencaux 34 434
11 Bolton Fondlers 34 426

An outstanding week from Ian sees him shoot to the top of the league. Gren has a mare and drops down to seventh. Travis still has the same problems. Redsox stays steady in fourth.

Ok, so I need some advice. I have 2 injuries, whom I've substituted, but I also have the suspension of a midfielder and the only fit team member left is my reserve goalkeeper. What do I do, put the goalie in at midfield or does the system work some other way? It's all pretty academic, seeing as I'm doing so friggin' terribly anyway I suppose. :(

You can't put your goalkeepers in any non GK position. You'll just have to hope every fit (& non-suspended) player plays, otherwise you'll have players gettin 0 points. Or make some transfers, one freebie, plus two others could hit you for 8pts. Hell, you may as well, can't get much worse! ;)
