Rules:

1) No google or internet search for lyrics. No using friends using google or internet search for lyrics, etc. Otherwise, you're encouraged to use friends/acquaintances/random people in bar as much as possible.

2) Exception to 1 -- if you think that a lyric is from a certain song, you are welcome to look up that song to verify your guess. You should know the difference of whether you are cheating or not.

3) Submit all answers via PM to me. Please list your answers in this format for section 1: Song title – Artist, and in this format for section 2: Album title – artist. You get 1 point for each correct song/album title (depending on the section of the quiz), and one point for each correct artist -- 500 total points possible.

4) Submit as often as you like. I don't guarantee I'll answer everything right away.

5) No artist will be repeated within the lyrics section (though solo artists may appear both as themselves and as part of other bands). If the song has been covered, I'm looking for the first version (well, the first “known” version). Since the album cover section was created separately, artists might be repeated between the two sections.

6) Deadline is Friday, January 9, 2009.

7) Good luck. We're all counting on you.

Notes:

a. Big thanks to bing for doing the voodoo that he do on the album covers. Thanks, also, to Agrajag, alan smithee, BubbyChubs, Buckykatt, DrG, JJ, Mazer, and Steel Frog, for contributing to the lyrics section.

b. I tried to avoid repeating songs from previous years, but I don't guarantee that a couple didn't slip in.

c. There may be a few errors -- If you see something, say something. PM me and if I deem it significant enough, you may get a bonus point.

d. Lyrics are in “random” order, as determined by Excel.

I'm really surprised how many of the lyrics I know. Not that it's that many, mind you, but more than I thought

:green: Although mostly, I'll recognize the lyric and then I have to hum it in my head and keep going until I get to the chorus/title. Makes me feel like Cartman in the SP episode where he keeps having to sing all of Styx's Sailing Away.

:green: Except I often don't get there. I can hear it in my head, I know how the song or verse goes, but can I come up with a title or artist? No, I can't, and it drives me crazy. It's like earworms, but worse, because you can't get it out of your head by singing it to someone else.

Anyways, nice work, Sugar, and it should be some frustrating fun during the holidays...

Absolutely incredible :green:

I can tell that I suck at recognizing the lyrics...but I think I'll be around 60% on the covers.

Crap. I was feeling all proud until I stopped and actually counted--79 out of 220 is hardly tearing up the strip.

Still, there's time yet. [Burns] Excellent [/Burns]

Rest easy knowing you're beating my 52 1/2 (I only know the artist on one of them). Still, like you said, there's time.
