Nirvana - Nevermind. Ok, so it's the easy choice, but that's because, looking back, it has the most good songs on it (IMHO). Pearl Jam - Ten: second (probably PJ's best album, even if my favourite individual songs (apart from Black) come from later albums). TOTD and Soundgarden both good, but TOTG a little bleak at times. Don't really know Dirt to be fair.

Tough decision here. AIC's Dirt has some of the best songs on it (not just their best songs but best of the grunge "era"), however it's a mixed bag overall with some real crap on there, so I think I have to go with Pearl Jam's Ten, which is a complete listen with no desire to hit the skip button.

Personally, I think No Code (Pearl Jam) and STP's Core could get some consideration here as well.
It's fun, it's healthy, it's good exercise. The kids will just love it. and we put a little sand inside to make the experience more pleasant.

Best Nirvana album is Unplugged in New York, but don't know if that's still count as grunge.

I can't pick. Nevermind is definitely the grandaddy, but I can easily make a case for Ten or Dirt.

If I really have to choose, I'd go with Ten, which is an album that usually when I start listening, I end up always listening the whole thing.

I went with Ten, as I remember listening to it on repeat all through middle school and high school, along with STP's Core which has actually been in my cd player for the past 3 months.
Man, what is happenin'? Long time, no see.

Seven Mary Three - American Standard is probably my favorite to listen to, but there is no denying the incredible influence and significance of Nevermind. It's a great album and a no brainer for best grunge album of all time.

I voted for Ten, just because I like the entire thing, like others have already said. But Nevermind is great. It was a tough choice.

Mudhoney - Piece of Cake.

Mudhoney WERE grunge, no recognition. And when I was at uni I remember some kid wearing a nirvana top, even now people go on about Nirvana, but they weren't there man, so I went off Nirvana.
Pice of Cake is a genius and underrated album, and I'm the kind of snob who likes to like stuff others don't. Plus I saw Mudhoney in Camden underworld in 1993-94 and they were awesome, the following weed Butthole Surfers played!!!
I'd be happy to kill her, she called me a fish.
