It's awesome.
I'm really trying to take my time. I'm only a level 13 and have completed one main mission.
the depth they to with upgrades and creating things is outstanding.
There are some bugs but overall I'm completely addicted so far.
Playing on the PS4 here so may be a little different to PC users but would love to hear updates

I'm currently on only 2 bobbleheads though, need to work on that, and I'm struggling to decide what to waste my level up points on

I've been playing on the PC. I pre-ordered on the Xbox One and even put down a deposit for about half of it. I was at work the night it was released, though, and since it was really slow that night I decided I didn't want to wait. I went ahead and bought it for PC, too, that night. I still haven't gotten around to pick up my Xbox copy but I'm sure I will in the next week or two.

I've logged about 36 hours so far. I'm level 30. It feels like I'm a decent way into the main mission but I'm taking lots of time to do side missions to string it out. I thought I was starting the ending of the main story but that ended up being just another swerve in the story.

I'm having a really hard time deciding on what kind of gun and armor to stick with. Some of those tinkering supplies are hard to come by. I constantly find myself needing more adhesive, particularly.

My favorite companions so far are
Spoiler
Piper (whom I've romanced, woo woo) and Cait. I think I've unlocked 7 or 8 companions so far. I don't know how close that is to all of them.

I've found about 15 skill magazines but only 3 bobbleheads.

It's really easy to just get sucked into settlement building with the minutemen. That could be a game all in itself.

I really love the looting system, the way you don't have to hit a button to look in a desk or cabinet or anything.

I've only encountered 3 deathclaws so far. I've killed 2 (including the one you have to fight in the first hour) and ran like heck from the other one.

I haven't even met a companion yet (I really need to go through the main quest) so it's just me and the dog.

I have found myself saying 'here boy' and 'good dog' aloud to the computer which is a little unnerving. Plus when I get up to get a drink I half expect an alsation to follow me!

With weapons I'm loving my sniper rifle, but that goes back to my sneaky Skyrim days.

Spoiler
I did win a weapon called broadsider for helping the USS consitution, that's pretty sweet at killing the machine gun drones

with armor, at the moment I'm just picking up what I find and trying to get the best of a bad bunch. Updating it on a workbench when I can as well.

I have to keep stopping missions when they get too hard for me. Glowing ones and super mutants and too many ghouls are kicking my ass.

Ok, want to leave work and play it now!

I underestimated how much I've been playing. I just passed the 50 hour mark

You should also have access to have Codsworth as your companion. You get the option to have him as soon as you return to your house.

Glowing ones are really tough. The suicide super mutants are a real bitch, too.

I'm only playing on normal. I want to finish a game like this before I try a harder level.

My Skyrim lock picking mastery is really coming in handy.

My primary guns are a 0.50 Rifle I tricked out with a long scope and a silencer to use at a distance, a silenced 10mm pistol and a shotgun. All 3 of those are legendary weapons I looted. The rifle adds a bunch of radiation damage, the shotgun increases the chance of blowing their legs off and the pistol refills my VATS at double speed.

Well that may explain why I've been struggling. Will look at my gameplay tonight and post on here how I'm doing so far... but what an awesome game!

I have to admit I do love the shotgun, and I'm also using my molotov cocktails on the ghouls to great effect!

Only 18 hours here
I do have 4 bobbleheads tho
Also just got a 6 shooter that doubles damage on ghouls. I added a scope and grip made it light weight. So much easier now!
Loving upgrading weapons. Just need some decent apparel now

One thing it needs is the bobblehead collector machine from fallout3. Something to showcase

Edit: 5 bobbleheads woohoo!

Plus my choice of 4 companions. Gotta be the dog tho

You can build the bobblehead display through the crafting menu in any of your settlements.

I completed the Institute storyline. I've now started a new game. I haven't decided which faction to lend my full support this time.

Well, I finished the Institute faction storyline. Without spoiling too much, its impossible to take multiple factions to their completions. There are still lots and lots of missions and places I have yet to discover/conquer

I'm up to level 31 on my 2nd playthrough. I'm trying to do as much as possible on this one, whereas I was just trying to finish the story the first time. I just now got around to taking out the Corvega plant for the Tenpines settlers. I've got 3rd level rifleman perk plus the Macready perk that increases headshot accuracy. I used a fully modded .50 cal sniper rifle and set up on the overpass across from the plant. I got VATS headshots on the entire outside force without taking a single bullet in return. It was extremely satisfying. I was feeling so good I went ahead and shot down the two brotherhood of steel birds that were flying around the area, as well. Those took about 10 shots from my combat rifle but went down reasonably easily, too.

What are your favorite quests and companions?

For me, Macready is my favorite companion but I like Cait and Piper quite a bit, too. I'm using Hancock lately.

My two favorite quests so far have been the Silver Shroud and the Cabot House.

Post subject:  Re: Fallout 4

I'm struggling at the moment. Some stupid freedom trail I can't follow. Plus there some big dude called Swan whose ass I just had to kick. I'm a level 33 and spent most of my level ups on hacking and lock picking, as well as the gun nut.

I use Nick Valentine usually. And dogmeat. I feel bad when I send the pup away so normally bring him with me. Actually havent used anyone else yet.

Silly little mission, but loved it as played around midnight, was this church with a big bad in it. Been watching a lot of Supernatural lately and it almost reminded me of that.

Usually I use Kellogs pistol or a nice pump action that seems to be working well.

for quests, so far I'm:

Quests completed: 60
Misc: 23
Main: 8
Side: 16
Bro of Steel: 20
Minutemen: 15

I think if I ever find the railroad I'll start doing the institute quests?
I'll keep going, but down to 3 mini nukes and need to start selling some weapons as I carry everything.
Still, amazing game, and I know I'm getting Battlefont from Santa so want to get as much fallout in as I can

Level 35 now hit 50 hours and got 8 bobbleheads. Working on minutemen quests now with an unlimited laser sniper rifle that you don't need to reload

I've got Fallout on my PC and my Xbox. I play the PC one when work is slow and play the Xbox at my house. I am trying to take different paths with each playthrough and sometimes I find myself getting confused about which game I've played particular missions or chosen different perks on. It usually takes me a little while to get up to speed when I switch to one after playing the other for a while.

I haven't played this since before Xmas, already seems like ages ago. I'm sticking to the one game, want all the bobbleheads and everything. then next game I will muck about more.

The more i play it though the more I like it. I can't do those online play together things. Not sure what that says about me.
