Well, I've only seen each of the five movies once, so I'm behind LR all the way. I saw the original trilogy for the first time right before Episode I came out in '99.

I must confess, I saw Episode IV seven times in 1977 after it first came out and I don't ever remember seeing Greedo shoot at all. I thought Han just shot him because he was threatening him. However, that never made me think that Han was at all villainous, just pragmatic.

Received the DVDs this morning. I'll probably start watching them tonight.
Penny-Arcade posted a nice strip about it today: http://www.penny-arcade.com/view.php3?d ... 9-22&res=l :)

I'm buying it... but I'm not rushing out today to get it. Maybe if Target has it on sale or something.
It was $43 + tax at Target today. Wal-Mart might be a little cheaper.
My Wal-Mart had it for $44 something - and they were sold out.

Best Buy had it for 42.99, if you have a best buy nearby, and they aren't sold out.

I have not watched the Special Editions since they were in the theaters... and someone told me they missed the Ewok song at the end of Jedi... I don't remember them taking that out... I remember them adding celebration scenes... but I thought the song was still there... anyone can confirm that?

It's still there. They removed a couple shots from the Ewok Circle Jerk.

Especially the one where Warwick Davis hit Cloud City...

I still can't get over how cheap DVDs are in the US. I paid £26.99 (around $45) for my box set from Amazon, which I believe was the cheapest in the UK. And that is very cheap for over here!

Watched Empire last night - still good, not too much faffing with that I didn't like.

Might watch Jedi now, or maybe Zatoichi, seeing as I've had it from blockbuster.co.uk for about 2 weeks now
Statler: Well, how do you like the film?
Waldorf: I've seen detergents leave a better film than this.

I heard a rumour that the pre-orders for it were more than sales of any other DVD in history, so it would be the biggest selling DVD in history as soon as it was released (or is that what you meant?)

In related news I will echo some of the sentiment here and say I will be buying it, but am in no great rush. Just like I haven't got round to buying the Indy or Godfather boxes yet. But I do own both the original versions and the 97 versions on 'real' (as in not taped off the TV) VHSs, maybe they're worth something (not to mention the lots of original Star Wars toys I have somewhere :D )
Lionel Hutz, aka Miguel Sanchez, aka Dr. Nguyen van Thoc, was paid $8 for his 32 hours of babysitting.

He was glad to get it.

Sooooo, that's the reason for Vader's voice? It's been static all this time?

I had The Ten Commandments at home for 2 months before I got around to it. I had Saving Private Ryan for about 10 weeks, before I returned it without watching it.

You see, Hopsi, you don't know very much about girls. The best ones aren't as good as you probably think they are and the bad ones aren't as bad. Not nearly as bad.

Question for those that have bought the box set...

How is Disc 4? I was hoping to rent everything from BB but apparantly the stores only got the 3 movies... I'm in the middle of the commentary on Empire, but there is no way to rent Disc 4 with all the Special Features (the Indy box set had Last Crusade come with the fourth disc but they didn't do that here...) There's a chance I could rent in on blockbuster.com, but I am too lazy to check out that site right now...

There's probably a chance I'd actually buy this, but not for a long time since I am so poor...

Why not? Aren't Ewoks little bears? It's a scientific question.
