Sweet. I wasn't planning on buying any DVDs this morning but I just couldn't pass this up. I figure I'm going to be spending a lot of time around the house these next few weeks and this will definitely help pass some time.
The :) means it's all ok.

Shit. I paid a fair amount more than this about 6 months ago. Still glad I have it, but...
FWIW, although I'm way late to this party (never poke my head in this forum, sorry), our biggest local video rental place went under this summer and did a huge sale on their stock. I went across the river and (yes, I was one of those people) called my friend who was a film critic for 20 yrs and literally read him out every title on their foreign shelf, and he told me which ones I should buy. Think I came away with 15 or 20 DVDs at 3 for $10. Have only watched 2 I think, but still appreciated the (very subjective) expertise. Expect the 2 other people in the tiny store at the time, who were listening to me shout these titles out, were less happy.

If you wake up at a different time in a different place could you wake up as a different person?

Just put this up in Movie Madness because I forgot about this forum, and figured more people go in there, but Criterion's got half off list price of any film for the next hour. Hurry Hurry Hurry!

Awesome. I actually almost ordered a couple movies there a few days ago, but they wouldn't accept my credit card. Thank goodness. Acutally, they wouldn't accept it again tonight, but this was worth breaking out the back up card. Thanks for the tip!

The Lady Vanishes, Brief Encounter, Mr. Hulot's Holiday, and Heaven Can Wait.

Last time I bought from them, I did the same thing, picked a bunch I hadn't seen, and it worked out well then (Spartacus, Rashomon, Time Bandits and Kind Hearts and Coronets).

ty, lazybutt

I picked up a few; was sad to see that they were out of KH&C—though Walmart.com has this OOP title (for now)...

I just picked up an Ealing Studios box set: Kind Hearts and Coronets, Passport to Pimlico, The Lavender Hill Mob, The Man in the White Suit and The Ladykillers for £12 ($19). I also picked up a Marx Bros collection: Animal Crackers, Monkey Business, Duck Soup and Horse Feathers for £15 ($24). They're not from the Criterion Collection, but they both look pretty good.
Robin: "Gosh, Batman, is there anything you don't know?"
Batman: "Oh yes, Robin. Several things, in fact."
