I know it wasn't a movie, but why can't MTV put all of the episodes of THE State on DVD. That was solid gold.

That show was great. I have all of the episodes on VHS but the quality is total crap. They would make a fortune

I don't know if they're that popular though. I try to talk about the show with my friends and they have no idea what I'm talking about. You think they'll come out with it on dvd?

There is a petition that you can sign that someone is submitting to MTV. they have like 5000 signatures on it now. Here is the link

What about "The Last American Virgin" (1982)? To me that was the best teen movie of the 80's even though most have forgotten it.

This film singlehandedly ruined both "Open Arms" and Friday the 13th Part IV for me.

Could someone tell me if/when we are going to get Van Wilder or The Simpsons Season 3 in the UK?

Simpsons 3 hasn't been released in the US, and no date has been announced yet :-?

Hopefully, they're working on a "play all episodes" option.

I'd highly suggest Family Guy series 1 and 2 as a stop gap for The Simpsons season three.

When is Howard the Duck gonna come out on DVD? That movie has a nice cult following and I'm one of the folks that liked it.

After the debate in the Duos Tournament thread, "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead" deserves a mention here. Still no word of a DVD release :(

Obviously, most people know (who care about it), for example, that Say Anything ... is out. But here's a recap (Region 1 only):

OUT NOW:
* Fatal Instinct
* Say Anything...
* all three National Lampoon's Vacation movies (as well as the disaster known as Vegas Vacation); National Lampoon's Vacation SE comes out Aug 19 (don't know the features yet)
* crappy versions of Sixteen Candles and Weird Science

DATES SET:
* Family Guy vol. 2 (season 3 -- vol. 1 was s1&2, the show was 3 seasons total): Sep 9
* The Simpsons season 3: Aug 26
* Pretty in Pink: May 13
* Mr. Show with Bob and David season 3 (of 4; 1 and 2 appear in one package already): early August

DATES kind of SET:
* They seem to have announced specs for new editions of Sixteen Candles and Weird Science, but release dates seem to be listed as "TBA" everywhere
* Indy trilogy: "Spielberg told 'Empire' that 'We will see the Indy trilogy definitely by the end of this year.'" (from http://www.theraider.net/information/indy_dvd/index.php#trilogyrelease) -- seems semi-sketchy, but it's a scrap

NO NEWS (that I could find):
* Last American Virgin ('82)
* Hamlet (Gibson/Zef.)
* Hamlet (Branagh)
* Howard the Duck [edited: was under "OUT NOW" -- whoops.]
* The State (TV)
* Upright Citizens Brigade (TV)

NO NEWS (that I could find) that I'm waiting for:
* PCU
* Action (TV)
* Greg the Bunny (TV)
* Mr. Show season 4 (TV) (give it time, I'm sure)
* NewsRadio (TV)

Where are you getting your info on Howard the Duck? Everything I can find says there is no DVD version out.

I am on crack.

And illiterate.

IIRC, I did an Amazon.com search for "Howard the Duck" (w/"DVD" picked in the drop-down box) and it came up with an in-stock product. Unfortunately, it was
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000055ZEZ/qid%3D1051133696/sr%3D11-1/ref%3Dsr%5F11%5F1/102-4957616-3544950

Sorry about that.

If anyone else cares:

It's a bit vague, but at least there's a ray of hope.

A 3 pack (Sixteen Candles, Weird Science, The Breakfast Club.
) for $27.99+tax+ship (pre-order price) Region 1: http://www.dvdplanet.com/product_listing.asp?productid=34418&format=DVD
sep 2 release. All 3 have been separately announced, but don't seem to have features (beyond "closed captioning" etc.)

Perhaps this is a final reprinting before the "good" versions come out
Or there are no longer plans for good ones
Or the site is wrong and there will be features
