I gotta tell you though, there are more than a few bombs in there. Some of them I got just because they were available and some of them are doubles. (regular edition, special edition, director's cut all of the same movie.) I have the Die Hard Trilogy twice-the regular one and then the double disc box set, regular LOTR, then the 4 disc set, A whole shit load of Evil Dead, Evil Dead 2 and Army Of Darkness's and more.

I currently own around 150 original DVD's...I do have copies, but I usually download those after I have seen the movie at the cinemas, watch it a few times and then buy the DVD on release...

If we* ever get all our DVDs together I think we're at about 150 now. There's 126 movies in the house now, not counting anime, and some TV shows aswell.

*we being me and my house mate.
Lionel Hutz, aka Miguel Sanchez, aka Dr. Nguyen van Thoc, was paid $8 for his 32 hours of babysitting.

He was glad to get it.

I currently own 438 titles (ST and SG1 seasons counting one title per season and Band of Brothers/Cosmos MiniSeries counting as one as well). No dups, I keep the best copy and give the others to friends.

All movies were purchased at Suncoast (A movie store in the US) with the exception of a few that were grabbed at Wal-Mart and Columbia House. No stolen or otherwise acquired titles.

I keep my collection stored in alphabetic order in 2 cherry-wood library quality book shelves that match my entertainment center. Electronically, I have a Microsoft Access database that I use to store all of my titles. I export those titles to a comma seperated text file for my PDA prior to going to the store to purchase any movies to prevent from getting duplicates.

I only have 9 VHS movies left in my collection as I gave away the majority of titles when I got them on DVD. Lost cause since I have dropped the VCR for a PVR. If I want to watch them I have to use my 3yo son's 13" television and tell him he can't watch Rugrats because daddy want to usurp his VCR.

Like your style. I have about 840 titles and storming towards 1000. Database is a must. I also have downloaded all the AFI and AMPAS winners which I aim to own. I still have around 400 of those to get - although about 30-40% of those have not yet been released - mainly older titles.

If I count only the legit boxes, and if box sets count as one (e.g. Die Hard box, Indy box), I am on 99.

What should I get as my 100th?

I'd hold out for Iron Monkey (2 disc SE).

I always count the box sets as individual discs (ie/ Indy is 4 discs). In the least it would have to count as 3.

No suggestions for you, Nunis. This is a decision you must ponder at great length. Look to your heart for the answer.

If your heart has nothing to say then go get Pee Wee's Big Adventure.
