Commercials that don't make sense

If there's a useless thread in here, chances are excellent that JJ created it.

Commercials that don't make sense

#1 Post by » 06 Jan 2008, 20:15

How does identity theft cause a guy to have to take a job where he wears a pirate suit at a fast food restaurant?

What does productivity enhancement have to do with Southwest Airlines?
The :) means it's all ok.

Apparently, he was rich enough before that to not do anything.

I once heard an ad for Lo-Jack that featured a testimonial from a guy who came home from a trip to find his car gone. It turned out that he had left it in neutral. At some point it roll off his driveway, through some bushes and into a big ditch. Then a snowstorm covered up any tracks. But thanks to Lo-Jack, he knew where it was in 2 hours. Am I supposed to be impressed that it only took 2 hours to find his car that was 50 feet away?

Ok, this one bugs me -- that guy who talks up Silverado and says it's "second to none." Then he adds, "and by 'none,' I mean Ram and Ford." So, I know the intent is to dis Ram and Ford, but what you have actually said is, "Silverado is second to Ram and Ford."

And wouldn't that actually mean Silverado is third?

No, you're all wrong. Second to none means always first, even though you can misinterpret it. So, Silverado is first and Ram and Ford are tied for second. There is no third. :D

I think officially they just get rid of the second place in that case and then it would be third.
They do it fro ties in the olympics all the time. Two golds and a bronze.

Sprint "Framily" commercials are completely nonsensical. The only amusing one is advertising the streaming music and sound quality... where we get to see goth boy Gor-Don dance. I really like Judy Greer, but these commercials are pure nonsense.

I dislike the one with Kevin Durant but I love the one with the boy with a bad case of boogie fever. Those dancing girl scouts are great

There's a Ford commercial campaign (at least in the Northeast or Tri-State region) with a really irritating jingle. The lyrics of the jingle are:

"Got me looking for the next best thing. Got-got me looking for the next best thing."

If Ford has the singer looking for the next best thing, doesn't that mean that there was some reason why she decided against buying a Ford?
It's fun, it's healthy, it's good exercise. The kids will just love it. and we put a little sand inside to make the experience more pleasant.

I thought we agreed that Silverardo was next to Ram and Ford, wouldn't that mean it's the next best thing?
