Movie Line I'm throwing you to use in a meeting

If there's a useless thread in here, chances are excellent that JJ created it.

Movie Line I'm throwing you to use in a meeting

#1 Post by Dawson » 04 Jun 2015, 09:54

So... a way to mic it up a bit, can see if it works.

We give the quote, and see how many of us can bring it up in a meeting at work/school/coffee shop/where ever. The more creative the better. Could have given Scruluce something awesome to throw into his wedding day hehe. The most creative can pick the next one, and if someone manages something extra special they can have a prize...

OK, will try, if no one likes then no one plays.

The quote, to be used on Friday (maybe give the weekend), and as it is the first, you get a choice of 2:

"Fat, drunk, and stupid is no way to go through life, son."

“If I'm not back in five minutes, just wait longer."

It could be fun
I'd be happy to kill her, she called me a fish.

I'm stepping out of the office to go to my daughters 8th grade graduation type graduati. I told my coworkers, "I'll be back."
one of them replies with, "That's what they all day before they leave us."
He slow pitched it to me, so I said it: "if I'm not back in 5 minutes, just wait longer."

Nice, you get a point on the leaderboard, there are 3 points for the hard one, and a bonus 5 points if you use both in the same conversation ever (this game will evolve lol)

Do it!!
I was just helping the Spyman by holding the ladder while he installed solar screens. He asked me to grab him some windex while he was up there and I told him to be very still...then I said "If I'm not back in 5 minutes, just wait longer". Spyman said "It's gonna to take you 5 minutes to get windex?".

This doesn't belong in here probably but, I also just cussed at my vaccum cleaner and half expected it to cuss back at me, come alive, chop my head off and then go on a city wide killing spree including puppies.

I have 2 conference calls scheduled for tomorrow, a poker game, a 5K run on Saturday and a BBQ - Bday party on Sunday. If I can't use both of these lines (at least separately) I'm hanging up my FW badge. The trick will be using both in the same event.

Oh, BTW - AWESOME idea :D
Happy Halloween!

That paragraph belongs everywhere lol

And noshoes. Do it. I'm a manager at a charity boxing match at the weekend so will use both. And probably get smacked ;D

I don't know if it will improve my score, but no one in the office, save for my supervisor that approved the time off, knew I was making the trip. Everyone that I was speaking to thought I was going for a standard 30 minute lunch. When I returned, they told me that they thought I quit and walked off the job.

Just got to use the Animal House line on my 2nd conference call of the day

Co-workers were discussing plans for the weekend when one stated he "hadn't even begun to start drinking" when I blurted out said line. His retort - "I'm not fat!" followed by laughter as he knew the movie reference. (PS: he really isn't fat :D )

That's 1 down and 1 to go
Happy Halloween!

Niice. I got the Ace Ventura quote in. Nothing special. Told a coworker I was going to get something to eat then used it.

Right, that was just a warm up. Don't know if anyone's interested in making this a game, if so I can move it over to the games section. We can have a little table, a points system, I'll even chuck in a prize or two (that American Ninja BetaMax video is priceless) so let me know, and if you want, we can do... if not... meh :D

This is a bit late, but thought I should mention it, cuz, ya know, it happened.
Best man had called to see what we were doing (last Friday night). He said he would shower, then come over.
When we ended the call, I just threw out the Animal House line. Crickets could be heard from his end of the line, and my wife just looked at me funny.

Does it have to be a film?
I'd think an Arrested Development quote would be ideal for you...

Get used to it. My wife is as much a movie fan as I am, as you all know, and she still looks at me funny most of the time.

I think this would be a good addition to our games! It's fun even if we don't count points and stuff.

If you don't keep score, how do you compare yourself to the other FWers?
Robin: "Gosh, Batman, is there anything you don't know?"
