Puzzling

#1 Post by Scruluce » 04 Mar 2019, 08:22

My local paper has a running crossword contest with ambiguous solutions.
I'm recruiting any interested parties in helping me solve these puzzles.

Here is the most recent example (puzzle, and solution):

There are always 1-2 freebies, while the remaining prompts have an either/or answer using the provided words.

New puzzles are published on Sundays, with solutions given on Saturdays. I have to submit by Wednesday or Thursday to get my entry submitted in time.

Solutions were published on Saturday. They cancelled the weekly contest, so there's that.
I had a lot of the same answers you did, we were both at least half wrong.

Yeah, there was a whole series. Once or twice, someone won, but most often the prize money pot just grew bit by bit. I'm glad it's gone.

Surely, we can turn this thread into something more entertaining...
