Random thing that made you happy

If there's a useless thread in here, chances are excellent that JJ created it.

Have been passively looking for a while for a gift for a friend, a hardcover copy of a book long out of print. Set up an auto-search on eBay, but for months have been getting mainly the paperback, and the hardcovers that have been listed have been $150+. Today, not just a hardcover, but a first edition hardcover with dustjacket pops up. There's some wear on the dustjacket, it's not quite as pristine a copy as I might have liked, but, including shipping from Australia? $40. And there's a slim chance it might arrive by Christmas.

Good onya.
It's fun, it's healthy, it's good exercise. The kids will just love it. and we put a little sand inside to make the experience more pleasant.

Ivan Fernandez Anaya, Spanish Runner, Intentionally Loses Race So Opponent Can Win

Basically, the front couldn't tell where the finish line was, so instead of taking advantage, the second-place runner guided the man to his rightful victory. A monumental display of good sportsmanship. Bueno, Ivan.

Second snow day in a row, which means I've got time to catch up on my exam marking. If I can get most of the big questions done it means I may be able to slope off to the cinema tonight to see Monsters Inc 3D, and it definitely means I can see Django Unchained this weekend without fretting about my workload!
Statler: Well, how do you like the film?
Waldorf: I've seen detergents leave a better film than this.

We were in today. To be fair, the kids were pretty low key. Parents' evening tomorrow -boooo!

Benedict Cumberbatch as the voice of Alan Rickman as Snape on The Simpsons. Lasted all of four seconds, but what do I care?

If I was any good at photoshopping, I'd have doctored this up to fit the situation. ;)

Congrats, Bucky!
