I've been seeing this as well. Previously $50/mo, started by the brains behind Netflix. All related content to this story seems to have crashed. Crazy.

Don't tell Steel Frog, he could single handedly (or should that be flipperedly) bankrupt the company.

I know how excited you will all be to hear this tidbit. Uwe Boll is going to be at a convention in my hometown later this year.

They're way behind on distributing the cards due to the huge response, but I finally got mine this weekend (they were pretty good about providing status updates). I tried to use it today, but it wouldn't go through. I didn't realize until I looked at the FAQ tonight that I needed to check in with the app within 30 minuted of purchasing a ticket. I was having issues connecting to their customer support and the FAQs while I was at the ticket counter, so I paid for my ticket today. I'll probably try again Friday.

The card worked fine today. Just needed to use the app to pick my movie and check in when I was near the theater.

while reading the paper online today I came across this headline:

Ohio finally prosecutes somebody for sex with a dog

So is it me, or does this imply that this has been going on in the state of Ohio for some time now, but they have just gotten around to prosecuting someone for it  (or am I just reading it this way?)

:o Bad Headline Writer, Bad Headline Writer. (The article says it's a new law that went into effect earlier this year.) Still either pretty funny or pretty cringeworthy.

Ugh. Between Vegas and Petty, a different reality has much appeal at this moment.

Already been to several laugh threads today.

New experience with this day - I didn't realize the movie I went to see today was in IMAX, which isn't supposed to be covered by the card. The cashier was able to look up how much was loaded on the card ($11.01), used it, and only charged me the difference ($1.25). Not sure if other places would be willing to do this.

I was simply told the card didn't apply to IMAX films. Soooooo, I just pay for a non-IMAX film and go into the IMAX film I selected. (This is easier in certain theaters)

The card does not apply in the Bay Area to Landmark theaters, which are the best for Indie films, so I'm still paying something from time to time.

Have any of you used the card with reserved seating?

I haven't. There's an e-seating option that none of my local theaters offer. I don't know if that will let you buy anything farther out than the 30 minutes with the card purchase.

While watching some of the Friday the 13th marathon last week, I thought about how many people I knew named Jason growing up, and that it seemed like the name had dropped off in popularity. Just looked it up and I was correct:

Interesting that a movie (I'm assuming) could have that much of an impact.
