Oooh, that's exciting.

I hope there's a fair bit of focus on team dynamics and the clashes and conflicts between the various personalities, rather than just omg crazy action. This makes it seem there will be (and actually some of the action bits even look pretty cool - like the Hulk catch).

Iron Man was a very decent superhero movie.

I liked Captain America. The Incredible Hulk didn't suck.

I enjoyed most of the movies leading up to this but I would be very pleased if this was better than all of the others. For instance, if it is better than the first Iron Man that means Avengers is a really special, awesome movie.

So, uh, dumb question but what other films do I need to see before this? I am very uneducated on the subject but the trailer looks fun. Am I right to assume it's Iron Man and is sequel, Thor, Captain America, and The Incredible Hulk?

Of those I've only seen the first Tony Stark, are the others ok popcorn flicks I could watch with my husband?

that would be all of them. Also, ff to the end of the credits for all films. Hubby should like them okay.

Jeremy Renner's character (Hawkeye) is introduced (but not really) in Thor. You may remember the big falling our with Ed Norton and the studio over The Incredible Hulk, so he isn't in The Avengers (Mark Ruffalo is the new Ed Norton). You don't really need the second Iron Man, but it doesn't hurt. Wait, I take that back. Black Widow (Scarlett Jo) makes her first appearance there.

Iron Man (2008)
The Incredible Hulk (2008)
Iron Man 2 (2010)
Thor (2011)
Captain America: The First Avenger (2011)

Husband will probably like most of 'em.

All popcorn flicks, none really terrible, and none but Iron Man (1) really great.

I don't think it really matters which order you watch them in.

I feel that Thor is much more enjoyable if you go in looking at it as more of an action/comedy.

Other than the Iron Man sequel, the only things that really matter for ordering are the post credit scenes.
