Superman: Man of Steel

#1 Post by Scruluce » 03 Feb 2011, 02:48

Who else did you expect to start this thread?

Looks like Nolan is producing. Glad to have his deep pockets backing the film, but I'd much rather have his Gotham directing in Metropolis. I'd even settle for a writing credit. I fear that a new crew means a new reboot.

I know it would probably be lame, but I always pictured Jude Law as Zod... I think Superman needs a real supervillain... and Spacey was good as Luthor wasn't he? Or is it just me.

I do find it funny that some people complained as the new guy playing Superman doesn't have a true American accent, Superman is from Krypton ffs.

Looking forward to this though

I've been at odds with most fans in regard to Superman Returns. I enjoyed the film. The idea was to pick up after Superman 2 and disregard the last two installments. Spacey is always fantastic, and his Luthor was no exception.

Jude Law for Zod...I'm not sure I see it. Viggo filling those shoes intrigues me a bit. Costner and Diane Lane as Ma and Pa Kent? I'm getting really curious.

 about his accent. I suppose the counter to your statement would be he was too young to pick up a Kryptonian accent, and was raised in middle America. I think it's small minded of those people to assume an actor cannot ACT OUT an accent other than his native one.

Amy Adamas confirmed as Lois Lane.. Sorry but I'm thinking meh.. just not a fan. The Costner/Lane thing is interesting I agree, but they really need a decent villain

I'm optimistic since the mention of Zod, but they really do need to get some OTHER villians in the mix. A proper hollywood rendition of Doomsday could make for a 2 film arc, maybe 3 if they stuck with some of the comic source material...

Russell Crowe as Jor-El

(and it seems to be called just Man of Steel now)
It's such a fine line between stupid and clever.

The run-time on this better be a solid two-hour film, at least. I'm going to be pissed if they rush this.

Not on this app. It leaves out the houses of Zod and El. And according to one site, two other houses as well. The app has 20 houses in it.
