  1. That's Mark Hamill doing the voiceover, right?
  2. I'm still annoyed that they didn't revise the last film to leave Leia dead. That CGI better be on point.
  3. Any guesses as to who is laughing? Snoke? The voiceover just said, "No one is really ever gone." Ian McDiarmid is still alive. After the unbelievable shenanigans from The Last Jedi, I wouldn't put it past them to bring Palpatine back.
  4. How long before we can unspoiler this discussion?

2. I still have nightmares of the CGI Leia from Rogue One
3. Palpatine! Nice :D
4. I only spoilered my comment about BDW as I have not read anything about the upcoming film, and did not know he was in it

Spoiler
Had to watch it again (several times).......
1. if that is a CGI Leia hugging Rey, that is the best CGI I've ever seen - could scene have been shot before she died?
2. in the final scene, that does look like the wreck of the Death Star from RotJ, so yeah....that laughter has to be Palpatine!

Is it December yet????

I just read that they used footage for Leia from TLJ that wasn't used in that film. So the hug in the trailer, at least, is not CGI (entirely?)

add a spoiler warning to your thread title so we can remove the spoilers, please. much simpler than constant censoring.
Didn't think of that......do I have the ability to add that now? Not sure I can

That laugh at the end of the trailer is 100% Palpatine's laugh. There was a series of comic books (that I believe were canon up until Disney bought the IP and retconned a whole bunch) were he was resurrected many years after Return of the Jedi. I guess it's possible that they could be bringing him back, although I doubt they'd use much of that story's plot since it had a lot to do with clones and I doubt they want to revisit the clone thing (also it would be problematic with all the writing credits and such). I also wonder if this is just a misdirection...

Embarrassing admission time... I've never seen any of the Beverly Hills Cops movies.

But I'll fix that after I see the next Star Wars!

The last two movies (Last Jedi and especially that diarrhea mountain Solo) were so poor that its hard for me to get excited about what happens next. It really makes me sad. I was once hard core of a fan enough to be part of a group of guys camping out outside of the theater (in the days before we had mobile phones to entertain us!) to get first showing tickets of Phantom Menace. I've been so frequently let down (perhaps by my own inflated expectations) by these subsequent movies that now I can hardly muster any enthusiasm at all.
The :) means it's all ok.
