The Ghostbusters theatrical rerelease seems to have showings on Thursdays Oct 13, 20, & 27—but at what theaters (in San Francisco)?

I found Moviefone to be quite helpful in establishing screening times.

Am I missing something here?

Yeah, a zip code. I get 529 theaters when I put in either mine or yours.

I really don't understand why they don't do this more often. They are showing "The Thing" 1982 version here on Thursday night. The wife and I are trying to make it. There are so many movies I wish I could see in a theater and I am sure there are plenty others that feel the same way I do that it would be profitable.

We have one cinema that does that a fair bit, but you can hire out the upstairs screen for private parties
The currant dbl bills are: ET & Close Encounters, My Bloody Valentine & Rosemarys Killer, Howard the duck & Flash Gordon & OVer the Top & Terrorvision, stuff like that

Fathom sometimes organizes these things nation-wide. They did a Scarface showing a month or two ago and were the ones that organized the Exorcist screening i went to last year.

Ghostbusters 3 Is On, But There's A Catch
By Jarett Wieselman
August 02, 2012

Unofficial Ghostbusters 3 spokesperson Dan Aykroyd has once again given the world an update on this long-gestating franchise reboot -- but this time he's got great news ... and terrible news.

First the good: he tells Metro (via) that a new writer has come on board and they've settled on a treatment that works for all parties involved, with plans to start production in 2013. The script will revolve around the original stars "passing the torch on to a new generation," Dan says. "We're working on it to make it just right to satisfy our fans."

And now the bad: Bill Murray will not be involved.

"It's sad," he says of Murray passing on the project, but is confident that "Ghostbusters 3 can be a successful movie without Bill. My preference would be to have him involved but at this point he doesn't seem to be coming and we have to move on."

I'm less confident. I mean, Ernie Hudson is great and all, but Murray's Venkman was the key (master) to that whole series.

Smells like Caddyshack 2 to me.
