I saw this trailer before Transformers. It looks like some big thing starts trashing NYC. I think I found it on IMDB but the page gives no details. Surely one of you guys knows whats up. What is this movie about?

The trailer looked really interesting. Noticed the "Bad Robot" logo before it and was very confused with the hand-held camera/apartment party scene. Some of the dialogue was cute and made me chuckle but I really didn't know what to expect. The rooftop and street scenes were great teasers and made me think of Godzilla (although he's already visited NYC with lackluster results).

I'm interested to see how marketing reveals the movie over the next few months...

Oh dear...

I hate when they release trailers before all the CGI is completed...

It'll definitely get yanked--it's not the first one to hit YouTube.

Glad I got to see it though because part of me felt there was a title or something in the last 4 frames but this clearly shows it's just "Paramount presents a BAD ROBOT production" with a few other credits....

Must continue to wait for another teaser...

Knowing the viral marketing Abrams used for Lost (was it oceanic813.com or whatever with all the easter eggs and sneak peeks) my guess is that there are clues here

Found that website is connected with "Cloverfield" from this page.

As for the first link there are definitely puzzles. I got through the first two easily (not really puzzles) but am way too tired to figure out if there's actually some pattern or something special to do once the metal ball opens up into orange pieces.

Confused cause the city doesn't look like NYC and Ethan Haas isn't the guy's name in the trailer...

Enjoy.

Oh... and also http://www.1-18-08.com/ has two pictures...

A good movie...adventurous, thrilling and at times scary, 9 January 2008

Not giving too much of the plot away...there's a lot going on in the first few minutes and you kind of get to know people in the beginning so watch it carefully...the movie is a ride filled with thrills, action, adventure and really little but like yeah humor (little).

It's way better than Godzilla and that kind of movies...the best part is that you can relate to it easily well since its a hand-held camera and this one thing really makes the movie spooky at times...the panting and puffing of the cameraman i mean its something different and unique.

Easily one of the most anticipated movies of 2008 and i am glad to say that it lives up to the hype and delivers wonderfully...

8/10

IMDB can be so funny to read sometimes, not that I doubt that this fine Indian fellow could produce such a fine account of the movie when no one else has a f'ing clue about it.

Actually, it's pretty racist of the marketing department to claim that something deliberately so bestially written would have come from India. English happens to be an official language there, and most Indians would be outraged to read that this was someone's idea of how an Indian person would write in English.

Well, I'd be willing to bet that there are at least a few idiots in India, just like anywhere else.

Yes, but it wouldn't be the language that would give them away.
