May 1 premiere -- giggity-giggity!
(there were several other family guy threads, but none that seemed quite appropriate ...)

It's such a fine line between stupid and clever.

Stewie and Brian were cracking me up. The whole Mel Gibson thing was already done by South Park. And honestly, and I can laugh at myself as much as anyone, but the jokes about Christians seemed mean and unfunny. Not so much though that I won't watch next week.
History shows again and again how nature points up the folly of man

The intro joke about canceled shows made me laugh clear through all the commercials.

great show.
the intro joke was great, and for some reason i just found stewie doing needle point in bed with brian of 'Die louis' hysterical.
so glad that this show is back, the humor hasnt seemed to change at all (which i was kinda afraid of)
and i loved the Blues brother scene
I am in a world of shit

Stewie wants to kill this guy??==>
The show was a welcome return, even if it was sort of a mix of The Simpsons's "Beyond Blunderdome" and South Park's "Passion of the Jew"

Blues Brothers and
North by Northwest references in one episode...awesome.
You see, Hopsi, you don't know very much about girls. The best ones aren't as good as you probably think they are and the bad ones aren't as bad. Not nearly as bad.

I'm starting to think that it was a mistake to bring back Family Guy. The last couple of shows haven't been as good the show was in its initial run.
My fear has become true the running of both Family Guy and the ultra bad American Dad has taken a lot away the show. When they decided to restart Family Guy the should have killed American Dad right then so they could focus on Family guy.
I hope that by the time fall rolls around American Dad will get axed, so we can get some really solid Family Guy. Otherwise Simpsons will easily crush it.
P.s. I did enjoy the Rocky reference last night, supporting my theory that everything in life revolves around Rocky III.

American Dad started off horrific. Now it's OK. I'm betting that, with the worst punishment being Dad's cancellation, Seth M, et al. will just be as offensive as they wanna be (well, at least they'll push the network more than if they cared about the show's life being at stake) on Dad. And I definitely disagree with FG having declined. The new episodes are great.

After the preview on a Family Guy DVD and the post-Super Bowl episode, I really didn't think I'd watch AD at all... However, it's easier to set up my VCR to tape 9-10 than it is to tape 9-9:30, so I tape and watch it anyway. And I'm finding AD to be not as bad as I expected. FG is also still making me laugh a lot. I don't see much, if any decline in FG.

i've unfortunately missed about half of the new season so far, my sundays seem to be filled with distractions, but it seems to be as good as it ever was. American Dad though, i dunno, i really can't get into that one. I watched it this past sunday and it made me chuckle a bit, but i think FG has spoiled me.

I would kill for TiVo... right now, however, I'll stick to good old-fashioned VCRs....
Family Guy has been great, although less so than before. I think the jokes are going on longer rather than having more of them... and some just miss the mark. Overall, though, it's been funnier than any show on TV.

here:
Imagine for a moment a TV world in which Earl Hickey, after winning his $100,000 and getting run over by a car, doesn't see Carson Daly talking about karma from his hospital bed.
Imagine, instead, that he instead took a life lesson from ... Stewie Griffin.
Or, save yourself some imaginative effort and just wait until the first season of "My Name Is Earl" is released on DVD sometime later this year. Because then you'll find out.
Greg Garcia, creator of the hit NBC comedy, unveiled plans for the show's first-season DVD set Tuesday night (March 7) to the audience at the Museum of Television & Radio's annual Paley Festival. He says it should be released before the show's second season begins in the fall, and it will contain a fair number of bells and whistles including commentary tracks and selections from "hours and hours" of gag-reel footage cast and crew have accumulated this year.
"We're actually doing 15-minute mini-episode [that asks] what if Earl [Jason Lee] passed by Carson Daly and landed on Stewie from 'Family Guy,'" Garcia says. Garcia is a former producer on "Family Guy," and both it and "Earl" are produced by 20th Century Fox TV.
It's such a fine line between stupid and clever.
