We're enjoying what we've seen of it so far. I worry that I will lose track of some of the characters in the Stark and Still Standing Kingdoms.

Dinklage is terrific.

Could use a little more of the Girl with the Dragon Fascination.
It's fun, it's healthy, it's good exercise. The kids will just love it. and we put a little sand inside to make the experience more pleasant.

I expect him to be governor by the end of the series.

I definitely have trouble keeping up with all the characters. Thankfully, one of the people I'm watching it with has read all the books. (Though she even has trouble keeping the characters straight sometimes!)
It's such a fine line between stupid and clever.

TLo described it well:
Spoiler
There’s that one girl, and there’s that other girl with the sword, and then there’s the girl with the dragon eggs, and the little boy who fell off the wall after he found that one guy fucking his sister in the tower, and then there’s all those guys in the Night’s Watch whose names we can’t figure out.

Not watching it get, loading up on episodes. Might do them all in a run at the end. But I think having read the book just recently isn't going to work well for me - I did start the first ep, and was already disappointed that The Wall was much less impressive than I'd pictured it.

Has anyone tried the free HBO applet for the iPod/iPad yet? That thing looks pretty cool.

Holy crap. Just downloaded it. It's got all The Wire, all SFU, all Deadwood, etc. I think I'm going to watch the one epichode of The Pacific I missed.

But seriously...
I've been really enjoying it.
The vast array of characters are starting to make more sense... slowly...
The in fighting and politics are good... but not as yet as evil and interesting as Rome & Spartacus... but they are getting there.
With the exception of the "Did he just stab that dude in the eye!?" fight... i've been finding Neds story the least interesting.
Tyrion is still my favorite character.
And I want Winter to come already... bring on the WHITE WALKERS!

Yup. I'm told he died in the book as well.
I bought it but not gotten a chance to read it yet.
Looking forward to it.

It's nice to know they are not willing to pull punches to satisfy fans of the TV show at the cost of fans of the book.

Ned's dead, baby. Ned's dead.

I suppose you don't have to worry about his plotline not being so interesting anymore. Stupid Boromir never makes it out of the first book (or does he - I've only seen the movie).
