It's such a fine line between stupid and clever.

Re: Star Trek sequel (Abrams '12)
Cool. I hope they can bring back all of the castmembers from the first one. I'd aldo like to see all the living members of the original series get a cameo.
The
means it's all ok.

Why? It's a reboot, and while Nimoy was a nice touch, I never really liked the (forced) inclusion of him in the first movie.A² wrote:I'd also like to see all the living members of the original series get a cameo.
I'd rather see a good Star Trek movie that can hold it's own, than a cameo fanboy fest.
Come play with us, Danny. Forever and ever and ever.

I didn't like Nimoy playing old Spock. I meant I'd like to see them get a cameo just as some random character they encounter in a bar or something. I don't want them to have anything to do with the plot.Middle wrote:A² wrote:Cool. I hope they can bring back all of the castmembers from the first one.

The first one was almost spot on. Simon Pegg was a miscast for me, shame because I like him but just not as Scotty. Hope this takes it up a notch.

Get Aaron Sorkin to write the thing and they can add him at the bar too.plaxii wrote:A² wrote:I didn't like Nimoy playing old Spock. unless they're dealing with the rise and exile of Khan, I certainly hope this remains rumor.alan smithee wrote:Khaaan!!(?)

Filming news...
FWIW, my father works at this lab. He actually worked in the NIF program that is discussed in the article.

Apparently they've got a title: Star Trek Into Darkness. I guess JJ didn't like my suggestion of Star Trekkin'.
More (but not much more) info here.

Re: Star Trek sequel (Abrams '12)
Looks good, but the end of the Japanese trailer spoils that this will indeed be a Khaaaaaan 'remake'. I really wonder what those final 6 seconds added to the trailer. It felt disconnected from the rest and added a spoiler.
