The January, 2002 issue of Yahoo! Internet Life magazine has its annual "100 Best Sites" article, and FilmWise clocked in at #3 in the Entertainment & Sports category, behind only Shockwave and the Internet Movie Database. WOW!!
The Boyz are surprised, to say the least, especially since most of the sites listed are huge operations, such as ESPN, E! Online and Audio Galaxy. And we're just a couple of Boyz. WOW!!
Pick up the magazine at your local newsstand, or check out a scan of the write-up that we've posted. WOW!!

Michael's name was drawn out of the FilmWise hat, so he wins a DVD of his choice. Thanks to all who participated.
You can check out all of the answers and high scores, and be sure to enter Contest #9: Something's Missing.

10/29: More international praise! Werkverzeichnis, a German website, has given FilmWise a write-up. I plugged the article into AltaVista's translating feature, and got the following translation:
"A Fim enthusiast has it heavily: There the whole heading full knowledge puts, only to need can mans in the normal life hardly! For all like that suffering Filmwise is made. Each quantity visual and text Quizzes waits here for Cracks, which all large films and each still so insignificant b-Movie. That increases the self-respect equivalent uncommonly."
I couldn't have said it better.

Real Buzz
Okay, we admit that some of the comments in our Buzz section may be less than authentic, but here are some genuine quotes from some genuine sources:
"The visual quizzes are fun even when you have no idea which dog is from "Turner and Hootch" and which is from "K-9," or can't tell Donald Sutherland's naked rear end from Holly Hunter's. But our favorite challenge is the Invisibles quiz... It's addictive fun. We just wish they'd done some erasing on that backside quiz."

Yahoo! Internet Life Magazine
"This clever site...will challenge anyone who claims to be a cinema master."
Rating: A
-- Entertainment Weekly
"At last! A hip, interactive film trivia site that doesn't feature questions like 'Robert Bresson's Pickpocket was based on which Dostoevsky novel?' ...How cool is that? As it turns out, very."
-- Yahoo!
"The creators of this clever movie site, launched on Oscar night, deserve an Oscar themselves for best special effects."
-- Roger Yim
SF Chronicle
"There are dozens of Web sites with movie trivia questions, mostly the same boring questions about Oscar winners and famous directors. Where can a fun-loving movie maven go for some creative big-screen quizzes? Try FilmWise.com."
-- MSNBC.com
"This very clever, two-man movie quiz site makes a lot of other online entertainment coverage look tired and unimaginitive by comparison... Not only are these contests wonderfully imagined, but they also shed new light on old film conventions."
-- MIN's New Media Report
"At FilmWise, film buffs can have fun in a whole new way... A very unique approach, and one that is sure to please film buffs."
-- InfoBeat
"There's an addictive quality to these little challenges. The first one is taken fairly casually. Then, when you check the answers and see how many you should have had right, there's an incentive to take another (and take it more attentively) in order to reassure yourself that you're not a complete cinematic idiot. And the cycle picks up from there - repeated failure encourages 'one more try,' while success invites additional reassuring confirmation."
